The originality of this study also lies in its extensive use of unpublished documents. Out of the bulk of Pessoa's English writings, The Mad Fiddler has been selected; it offers not only poems of better quality than most of his writings in English but it also has the advantage of being a complete and coherent suite of «mystical» poems. A systematic comparative study of the themes in The Mad Fiddler and in the poems by the four Portuguese heteronyms reveals a clear continuity and shows that Pessoa's bilingual Poetry is based on his main ontological quest, which he tried to solve by means of his dramatic scattering into «masks». After this comparative analysis, the individuality of The Mad Fiddler is defined. Following an overwiew of the unpublished English writings found in the Pessoan legacy, The Mad Fiddler is analysed by means of Pessoa's own unpublished comments. An investigation of Pessoa's private French library and of his unpublished Literary Appreciations proves how fully he understood the impact of Symbolism on the evolution of Modern Art. The Mad Fiddler could indeed be viewed as an English echo of Pessoa's interest in modern trends in Literature and as a kind of «English microcosm» of gessoa's aesthetic theory. 517 $aFernando Pessoa 606 $aLiterature 606 $apoetry 606 $aunpublished document 606 $amystical poem 606 $asymbolism 606 $aModern Art 615 4$aLiterature 615 4$apoetry 615 4$aunpublished document 615 4$amystical poem 615 4$asymbolism 615 4$aModern Art 700 $aTerlinden$b Anne$01459453 801 0$bFR-FrMaCLE 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910495821203321 996 $aFernando Pessoa: The Bilingual Portuguese Poet$93658722 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01500nam 2200373z- 450 001 9910694370303321 005 20070831132316.0 035 $a(CKB)5860000000029101 035 $a(BIP)014185822 035 $a(EXLCZ)995860000000029101 100 $a20220406c2007uuuu -u- - 101 0 $aeng 200 10$aNew initiatives in cooperative threat reduction $ehearing before the Committee on Foreign Relations, United States Senate, One Hundred Ninth Congress, second session, February 9, 2006 215 $a1 online resource (iii, 46 p.) 311 $a0-16-078671-1 517 $aNew initiatives in cooperative threat reduction 606 $aNuclear disarmament$xInternational cooperation 606 $aNuclear nonproliferation$xInternational cooperation 606 $aTerrorism$xPrevention$xInternational cooperation 606 $aSecurity, International 610 $aNuclear disarmament 610 $aNuclear nonproliferation 610 $aTerrorism 610 $aSecurity, international 610 $aPolitical science 615 0$aNuclear disarmament$xInternational cooperation. 615 0$aNuclear nonproliferation$xInternational cooperation. 615 0$aTerrorism$xPrevention$xInternational cooperation. 615 0$aSecurity, International. 712 02$aUnited States, Congress Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Staff,$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910694370303321 996 $aNew initiatives in cooperative threat reduction$93173012 997 $aUNINA
