How did inquisitors operate in the Italian society of the 16th and 17th century? In an attempt to answer these questions, the author analyses the inquisitors' familia , the Court of Faith's large group of assistants. In the light of rich unpublished records, this research is the first to reconstruct the events around the Holy Office's "staff", which consisted of vicars, notaries, lawyers, consultants, policemen, bodyguards and many others. The publication deals with the issues related to these officers, their geographic distribution and the brotherhoods used for their classification. Following this, the analysis shifts to the privileges enjoyed by the members of these "families", and the often heinous abuses they committed, demonstrating how the Inquisition became an element of social and moral disorder whenever its authority was questioned. 410 0$aPremio Tesi di Dottorato. 517 $a«Sotto l'ombra della patente del Santo Officio» 517 $a«Sotto l'ombra della patente del Santo Officio» 606 $aInquisition$zItaly 615 0$aInquisition 676 $a272 700 $aSolera$b Dennj$0917624 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910571729603321 996 $aSotto l'ombra della patente del Santo Officio$92057409 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01416nam 2200373z- 450 001 9910694174703321 005 20130601091256.0 035 $a(CKB)5860000000026180 035 $a(BIP)013903755 035 $a(EXLCZ)995860000000026180 100 $a20220406c2006uuuu -u- - 101 0 $aeng 200 10$aHurricane Katrina $ewho's in charge of the New Orleans levees? : hearing before the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, United States Senate, One Hundred Ninth Congress, first session, December 15, 2005 215 $a1 online resource (iii, 115 p.) $cill 311 $a0-16-077355-5 517 $aHurricane Katrina 606 $aHurricane Katrina, 2005 606 $aLevees$zLouisiana$zNew Orleans Region$xMaintenance and repair$xManagement 606 $aFlood control$zLouisiana$zNew Orleans Region$xEvaluation 610 $aUnited States 610 $aHurricane katrina, 2005 610 $aLevees 610 $aFlood control 610 $aHistory 610 $aNature 610 $aTechnology & engineering 615 0$aHurricane Katrina, 2005. 615 0$aLevees$xMaintenance and repair$xManagement. 615 0$aFlood control$xEvaluation. 712 02$aUnited States, Congress Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Staff,$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910694174703321 996 $aHurricane Katrina$93120901 997 $aUNINA
