The work deals specifically with the conception of time, and the way it is represented in the texts of the American author. By integrating the philosophy of time with narratology, the volume offers critical reflections aimed at identifying the type of poetics through which DeLillo articulates time in his work. In particular, the centrality of the perception of time in his novels and, more specifically, the concentration of the plots in certain moments, the oblique presence of the influence of Samuel Beckett's work in the representation of duration and the attention of the author to the double temporality of the cinematographic image and its hidden aesthetic potential are highlighted. Therefore, time becomes the conceptual context in which the textures of these texts, and the themes characterising them, find a resolution. In the representation of time, in the microscopic analysis and in the slow motion of some specific time segments, DeLillo's narrative traces the possibilities of an indefinable and mysterious perception of reality and history. 410 0$aPremio Ricerca "Citta? di Firenze". 517 $aprime opere narrative di Don DeLillo 517 $aLe prime opere narrative di Don DeLillo 606 $aTime in literature 615 0$aTime in literature. 676 $a813.54 700 $aBarbuscia$b Davide$01347887 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910774869603321 996 $aLe prime opere narrative di Don DeLillo$93665321 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01382oam 2200337z- 450 001 9910693944103321 005 20161209105323.0 035 $a(CKB)5470000000935521 035 $a(WsH)cbhfdsohenbnnb 035 $a(BIP)013468521 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000000935521 100 $a20211006c2005uuuu -u- - 101 0 $aeng 200 10$aCritical mission $eensuring the success of the National Security Personnel System : hearing before the Oversight of Government Management, the Federal Workforce, and the District of Columbia Subcommittee of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, United States Senate, One Hundred Ninth Congress, first session, March 15 2005 215 $a1 online resource (iii, 191 p.) $cill 311 $a0-16-072797-9 517 $aCritical mission 606 $aCivil service$xSelection and appointment$zUnited States 606 $aHuman capital$xGovernment policy$zUnited States 607 $aUnited States$xArmed Forces$xCivilian employees$xSalaries, etc 610 $aUnited States 610 $aCivil service 610 $aHuman capital 610 $aPolitical science 610 $aBusiness & economics 615 0$aCivil service$xSelection and appointment 615 0$aHuman capital$xGovernment policy 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910693944103321 996 $aCritical mission$93187330 997 $aUNINA
