These specifications reflect the design goals of interoperability and PIV Card functions. The goals are addressed by specifying PIV data model, communication interface, and application programming interface (API). Specifications include the PIV data model, API, and card interface requirements necessary to comply with the mandated use cases for interoperability across deployments or agencies. Interoperability is defined as the use of PIV identity credentials such that client APIs, compliant card applications and compliant integrated circuit cards can be used interchangeably by information processing systems across Federal agencies. SP 800-73 does not address the back-end processes that must be performed to attain full identity assertion. The document describes two realizations of the client-application programming and card command interfaces for personal identity verification: the transitional interfaces and the end-point interfaces. Transitional interfaces may be used by agencies with an existing identity card program as an optional step in evolving to the end-point interfaces. End-point interfaces are used by agencies without an existing identity card program and by agencies that elect to evolve to the end-point interface in one step rather than two. SP 800-73 is divided into three parts: Part 1 provides specifications common to both the transitional and end-point interfaces and guidance on strategies for migrating from the transitional interfaces to the end-point interfaces; Part 2 describes the subsets of GSC-ISv2.1 that comprise the transitional interfaces to the PIV data model; and Part 3 describes the PIV data model's end-point interfaces. 410 0$aNIST special publication ;$v800-73-3. 410 0$aNIST special publication.$pInformation security. 606 $aBiometric identification$xSpecifications 606 $aIdentification cards$xSpecifications 606 $aSmart cards$xSpecifications 610 $aFIPS 201 610 $aHSPD-12 610 $aPACS 610 $aPIV 610 $aPIV authentication mechanisms 610 $aSmart Card 615 0$aBiometric identification$xSpecifications. 615 0$aIdentification cards$xSpecifications. 615 0$aSmart cards$xSpecifications. 700 $aChandramouli$b Ramaswamy$01162180 701 $aChandramouli$b Ramaswamy$01162180 712 02$aInformation Technology Laboratory (National Institute of Standards and Technology) 801 0$bGPO 801 1$bGPO 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910693110903321 996 $aInterfaces for Personal Identity Verification$93484273 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01534nlm0 22003371i 450 001 UON00504199 005 20250630013318.0 010 $a978-13-15-15893-8 100 $a20201229d2020 |0itac50 ba 101 $aeng 102 $aGB 105 $a|||| ||||| 181 $af$b e 182 $ab 200 1 $aˆThe ‰Routledge handbook of translation, feminism and gender$fedited by Luise von Flotow and Hala Kamal 210 $aLondon$aNew York$cRoudledge$d2020 215 $a1 risorsa online (xx, 572 p.$cill.$d24 cm.) 410 1$1001UON00504810$12001 $aRoutledge handbooks in translation and interpreting studies 606 $aTraduzione e Interpretariato$3UONC055814$2FI 620 $aGB$dLondon$3UONL003044 676 $a418.02$cUso standard (Linguistica prescrittiva).
