Therefore, the book is not only aimed at mathematicians, but also at natural scientists, engineers, and economists who want to understand and apply mathematically sound methods in their field. With just over two hundred pages, the book offers sufficient flexibility to serve as a foundation for various types of lectures on nonlinear optimization. Many geometric approaches for understanding both optimality conditions and numerical methods introduce a new perspective, enriching the existing literature on optimization. This is particularly evident in the detailed treatment of issues arising from different functional descriptions of the same geometry of feasible sets, and the thus motivated introduction of constraint qualifications for deriving derivative-based optimality conditions. The author Prof. Dr. Oliver Stein is a full professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, where he heads the Continuous Optimization group at the Institute for Operations Research. His research focuses on the design and implementation of optimization methods and their theoretical foundations. His teaching focuses on global optimization, nonlinear optimization, mixed-integer optimization, convex analysis, parametric optimization, and multiobjective optimization. This book is the English translation of the second edition of ?Grundzüge der Nichtlinearen Optimierung? (Springer, 2021) written in German. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence. A subsequent revision was performed by the author to further refine the work and to ensure that the translation is appropriate concerning content and scientific correctness. It may, however, read stylistically different from a conventional translation. 410 0$aMathematics Study Resources,$x2731-3832 ;$v8 606 $aMathematical optimization 606 $aOptimization 606 $aOptimitzaciķ matemātica$2thub 606 $aTeories no lineals$2thub 608 $aLlibres electrōnics$2thub 615 0$aMathematical optimization. 615 14$aOptimization. 615 7$aOptimitzaciķ matemātica 615 7$aTeories no lineals 676 $a519.6 700 $aStein$b Oliver$01425664 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910887876603321 996 $aBasic Concepts of Nonlinear Optimization$94254565 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01119nam 2200289 450 001 996706580003316 005 20260203143307.0 100 $a20260203d1950----km y0itay5003 ba 101 0 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $ay 00 y 200 1 $aValiditā dei sindacati azionari di amministrazione con trasferimento alla direzione del diritto di voto$fAntonio Venditti 210 $aRoma$cIstituto italiano di studi legislativi$d1950 215 $a[44]-50 p.$d25 cm 300 $aTitolo della copertina 300 $aIn copertina: Istituto italiano di studi legislativi 300 $aEstratto da: Giurisprudenza completa della Corte suprema di cassazione.
