Chacun adopte à l?égard de l?opération traduisante, de sa valeur d?échange ou de ses fonctions au sein de la culture française, des attitudes analogues ou différentes, voire concurrentes, qui constituent en même temps des repères essentiels pour l?historien de la traduction et de la littérature. De la lecture de ces textes se dégagent moins une « pensée » sur la traduction, que les structures d?un discours subtilement assorti à la plupart des interrogations qui ponctuent l?évolution des savoirs langagiers.
