In a similar vein, synthetic bioactives, as well as small molecules, have been studied in vitro, in vivo, and in clinical studies as potential drugs or supplements. This Special Issue of Nutrients comprises an array of literature reviews, original communications, and studies on the roles of natural products, synthetic bioactives, and small molecules in a variety of skin disorders and diseases, such as aging, atopic dermatitis, cutaneous T-cell lymphomas, melanoma, allergies, hyperpigmentation, inflammation, and more, which were investigated through in vitro and ex vivo approaches, preclinical trials, cell-based assays, and animal models. The mechanisms of action of certain compounds are proposed, while others are currently under investigation. The authors of the papers also explore technologies designed to improve the bioavailability and delivery of certain compounds. In lieu of ongoing research on a variety of skin disorders, the wealth of information published in this Special Issue can act as a springboard for the development of new preventive and therapeutic modalities for the management of skin diseases. 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 606 $aBiology, life sciences$2bicssc 610 $akeratinocytes 610 $arutin 610 $aascorbic acid 610 $aUV radiation 610 $aproteomics 610 $a3D cell culture 610 $aborage oil 610 $atriacylglycerol metabolism 610 $aacyl-ceramide 610 $acorneocyte lipid envelope 610 $aepidermis 610 $aanti-melanogenesis 610 $aB16/F10 melanoma cell 610 $ahydroxyoctadecadienoic acid 610 $aSorghum bicolor 610 $a3-isobutyl-1-methylxanthine 610 $amycosis fungoides 610 $aatopic dermatitis 610 $acutaneous lymphomas 610 $acornified envelope proteins 610 $aFLG 610 $amicroalgae 610 $aPlanktochlorella nurekis 610 $askin cells 610 $aproliferation 610 $asenescence 610 $aholothuroids 610 $aglycosaminoglycans 610 $ainflammation 610 $aear-inflammation 610 $awhey 610 $aLactobacillus helveticus 610 $amelanin 610 $a?-melanocyte-stimulating hormone 610 $atyrosinase 610 $atyrosinase-related protein 1 610 $adopachrome tautomerase 610 $amicrophthalmia-associated transcription factor 610 $acosmetics 610 $ablack cumin 610 $aNigella sativa 610 $aThymocid® 610 $askin aging 610 $aglycation 610 $acollagen 610 $acollagenase 610 $aelastase 610 $amelanogenesis 610 $acosmeceutical 610 $akonjac glucomannan 610 $aultraviolet B 610 $ahuman epidermal primary melanocytes 610 $ahuman embryonic fibroblasts 610 $aanti-inflammatory activity 610 $aantioxidant activity 610 $aCornus officinalis 610 $amolecular docking 610 $ahuman high-affinity IgE receptors 610 $a?-MSH 610 $aUVB irradiation 610 $alotus seedpod extract 610 $aepigallocatechin 610 $apropolis 610 $askin 610 $amatrix metalloproteinase-1 610 $aUV 610 $aphosphoinositide 3-kinase 610 $askin care 610 $askin health 610 $abioactive substances 610 $aphytonutrients 610 $aantioxidants 610 $anutraceuticals 610 $aPerilla frutescens 610 $acell proliferation 610 $aultraviolet radiation 610 $aDNA repair 610 $aLactobacillus plantarum CJLP55 610 $aacne vulgaris 610 $asebum 610 $ahydration 610 $aurine bacterial extracellular vesicles 610 $afungal infections 610 $ananohydrogel 610 $apolysaccharide 610 $aessential oils 610 $aeggshell membrane 610 $akeratinocyte differentiation 610 $aTRPV 610 $askin thickness 610 $aLithospermum erythrorhizon 610 $aNC/Nga 610 $aTh1 610 $aTh2 610 $aTh17 610 $aTh22 610 $aimmune balance 610 $askin barrier function 615 7$aResearch & information: general 615 7$aBiology, life sciences 700 $aChamcheu$b Jean Christopher$4edt$01278483 702 $aWalker$b Anthony L$4edt 702 $aNoubissi-Kamdem$b Felicite$4edt 702 $aChamcheu$b Jean Christopher$4oth 702 $aWalker$b Anthony L$4oth 702 $aNoubissi-Kamdem$b Felicite$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910639996003321 996 $aNatural and Synthetic Bioactives for Skin Health, Disease and Management$93013407 997 $aUNINA
