The language contains a number of grammatical systems that are of immediate relevance to current work on linguistic theory, including split ergativity, a mirative system, and a rich class of derived adjectivals. Its verb morphology has implications for the understanding of the history of the entire Tibeto-Burman family. The book, based on extensive fieldwork, deals with all major aspects of the language including segmental phonology, tone, word classes, noun phrases, nominalizations, transitivity alterations, tense-aspect-modality, non-declarative speech acts, and complex sentence structure. It provides copious examples throughout the exposition and includes three short native texts and a vocabulary of more than 400 words, many of them reconstructed for Proto-Kham and Proto-Tibeto-Burman. 410 0$aCambridge grammatical descriptions. 606 $a/Xam language$xGrammar 615 0$a/Xam language$xGrammar. 676 $a495/.49 700 $aWatters$b David$01562458 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910783082103321 996 $aA grammar of Kham$93830077 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05812nam 22007215 450 001 9910635390203321 005 20251008145011.0 010 $a9783031192463 010 $a303119246X 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-031-19246-3 035 $a(CKB)5680000000295192 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/96220 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC7157812 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL7157812 035 $a(OCoLC)1369647125 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-031-19246-3 035 $a(ODN)ODN0010068757 035 $a(EXLCZ)995680000000295192 100 $a20221214d2023 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurmn|---annan 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aExternal Voting $eThe Patterns and Drivers of Central European Migrants' Homeland Electoral Participation /$fby Kacper Szulecki, Marta Bivand Erdal, Ben Stanley 205 $a1st ed. 2023. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Palgrave Macmillan,$d2023. 215 $a1 electronic resource (116 p.) 225 1 $aMigration, Diasporas and Citizenship,$x2662-2610 311 08$a9783031192456 311 08$a3031192451 327 $a1 Introduction -- Defining External Voting -- Expansion of Emigrant Franchise -- External Voting Landscape: Countries, Elections, Criteria, and Modalities -- What Do We Know About External Voting? Drawing on new data gathered within the DIASPOlitic project, which created a comparative dataset of external voting results for 6 countries of origin and 17 countries of residence as well as an extensive qualitative dataset of 80 in-depth interviews with four groups of migrants, this book not only illustrates theoretical problems with empirical material, but also provides answers to previously unaddressed questions. This book?s introduction takes stock of current research on transnational politics and external voting, presenting core puzzles. The following chapter introduces the context of intra-European migration and the political situation in Central-Eastern European sending countries. The next two sections address the empirical puzzles, drawing on new quantitative and qualitative. The conclusion takes stock of the evidence gathered, discusses the normative problem of non-resident voters enfranchisement, connects external voting to the broader debate on political remittances and finally, maps the terrain ahead for future research. This concise, empirically grounded introduction to external voting is critical reading in structuring the debate around migration and shaping research agendas for the future. 410 0$aMigration, Diasporas and Citizenship,$x2662-2610 606 $aEmigration and immigration$xSocial aspects 606 $aPolitical sociology 606 $aElections 606 $aEmigration and immigration 606 $aSociology of Migration 606 $aPolitical Sociology 606 $aElectoral Politics 606 $aDiaspora Studies 615 0$aEmigration and immigration$xSocial aspects. 615 0$aPolitical sociology. 615 0$aElections. 615 0$aEmigration and immigration. 615 14$aSociology of Migration. 615 24$aPolitical Sociology. 615 24$aElectoral Politics. 615 24$aDiaspora Studies. 676 $a324.65 676 $a324.65 686 $aPOL007000$aSOC007000$aSOC026000$2bisacsh 700 $aSzulecki$b Kacper$01225881 701 $aErdal$b Marta Bivand$01338940 701 $aStanley$b Ben$01338941 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910635390203321 996 $aExternal Voting$93059227 997 $aUNINA
