Now that survey questionnaires are able to record individual trajectories in greater depth, changes of status can no longer be viewed simply as separate events, but involve a transition process of variable duration. The observation, modelling and interpretation of these fuzzy thresholds between two situations constitute a dynamic field of research in the social sciences. The authors of this manual have pooled their experience of event-history data collection to address the questions of ?focus?, i.e. finding the right observation distance to grasp the complexity of life histories, and of time, i.e. choosing the right timescale of detailed information collection. After analysing the links between quantitative and qualitative data, addressing the distinction between facts and perceptions, and deconstructing analysis data categories, they offer a number of conceptual and methodological solutions. This study extends beyond the scope of specific examples to develop a major empirical approach in a still largely unexplored area. This book targets a much broader audience than the community of demographers alone. It concerns everyone in the field of social sciences who, at one moment or another, is required to organize data collection in the field, either for research or practical purposes. The Groupe de réflexion sur l?approche biographique (GRAB) brings together researchers and academics from a range of institutions (INED, IRD, CNRS, etc.) working in a variety of disciplines: demography, geography, sociology, economics, etc. It is building on the experience acquired through 25 event-history surveys conducted to date in France, Africa and Latin America. 606 $aDemography 606 $aevent history analysis 606 $amethodology 606 $atemporality 606 $alife course 610 $aevent history analysis 610 $amethodology 610 $atemporality 610 $alife course 615 4$aDemography 615 4$aevent history analysis 615 4$amethodology 615 4$atemporality 615 4$alife course 700 $aGRAB$01331352 701 $aAdjamagbo$b Agnès$01284561 701 $aAmétépé$b Fofo$01290098 701 $aAntoine$b Philippe$0387663 701 $aBajos$b Nathalie$01290099 701 $aBeauchemin$b Cris$01290100 701 $aBéguy$b Donatien$01290101 701 $aBinetou Dial$b Fatou$01331353 701 $aBonvalet$b Catherine$01225513 701 $aBozon$b Michel$0152128 701 $aBrou$b Hermann$01290103 701 $aCalvès$b Anne E$01331354 701 $aCoubès$b Marie-Laure$01290106 701 $aDelaunay$b Daniel$0661137 701 $aDesgrées du Loû$b Annabel$01331355 701 $aDiagne$b Alioune$01290108 701 $aDureau$b Françoise$0435398 701 $aFerrand$b Michèle$01290109 701 $aGolaz$b Valérie$01290110 701 $aKuépié$b Mathias$01290111 701 $aLelièvre$b Éva$0414056 701 $aRoubaud$b François$0280985 701 $aTichit$b Christine$01290112 701 $aTijou-Traore$b Annick$01290113 701 $aVivier$b Géraldine$01290114 801 0$bFR-FrMaCLE 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910634090903321 996 $aFuzzy States and Complex Trajectories$93040293 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02548nam0 22004933i 450 001 VAN00123589 005 20240806100813.933 017 70$2N$a9783319573977 100 $a20190924d2017 |0itac50 ba 101 $aeng 102 $aCH 105 $a|||| ||||| 200 1 $aFinite volumes for complex applications VIII - Methods and theoretical aspects$eFVCA 8, Lille, France, June 2017$fClément Cancès, Pascal Omnes Editors 210 $aCham$cSpringer$d2017 215 $axii, 476 p.$cill.$d24 cm 410 1$1001VAN00102574$12001 $aSpringer proceedings in mathematics & statistics$1210 $aBerlin [etc.]$cSpringer$d2012-$v199 500 1$3VAN00235595$aFinite volumes for complex applications VIII - Methods and theoretical aspects$91561760 606 $a65Mxx$xNumerical methods for partial differential equations, initial value and time-dependent initial-boundary value problems [MSC 2020]$3VANC020831$2MF 606 $a65Nxx$xNumerical methods for partial differential equations, boundary value problems [MSC 2020]$3VANC020832$2MF 606 $a76-XX$xFluid mechanics [MSC 2020]$3VANC019858$2MF 606 $a86-XX$xGeophysics [MSC 2020]$3VANC023269$2MF 606 $a92-XX$xBiology and other natural sciences [MSC 2020]$3VANC020839$2MF 610 $aConference Proceedings$9KW:K 610 $aConservation and balance laws$9KW:K 610 $aFinite volume schemes$9KW:K 610 $aFluid- and aerodynamics$9KW:K 610 $aHigh Performance Computing$9KW:K 610 $aIncompressible flow$9KW:K 610 $aNumerical Analysis$9KW:K 610 $aNumerical modelling$9KW:K 610 $aNumerical simulation$9KW:K 620 $aCH$dCham$3VANL001889 702 1$aCancès$bClément$3VANV095055 702 1$aOmnes$bPascal$3VANV095056 712 12$aInternational symposium on finite volumes for complex applications$d8.$f2017$eLille$3VANV095057 712 $aSpringer $3VANV108073$4650 801 $aIT$bSOL$c20251024$gRICA 856 4 $uhttp://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-57397-7$zE-book ?
