It introduces the reader to the geopolitical context of the EU and of its main neighbours, as well as to the legal architecture of CFSP. The book then presents selected cases of the Union?s action (or inaction) in CFSP since 2009. These show the key argument of the book: the law of CFSP is not entirely fit for purposes as it does not reflect the geopolitical reality of the continent. The book reflects on such geopolitical reality as it results, in particular, from the 2004 EU enlargement, and comments upon three key issues of the CFSP legal framework: issues of coherence, accountability, and effectiveness. With its fusion of law and geopolitics, the book will be invaluable for students of EU foreign policy and EU external relations law. 606 $aLaw$zEurope 606 $aEurope$xPolitics and government 606 $aEuropean Law 606 $aEuropean Politics 615 0$aLaw 615 0$aEurope$xPolitics and government. 615 14$aEuropean Law. 615 24$aEuropean Politics. 676 $a341.2422 676 $a327.4 700 $aLonardo$b Luigi$0184182 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 912 $a9910634053403321 996 $aEU Common Foreign and Security Policy after Lisbon$92996534 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03927nam 22005175 450 001 9910298412003321 005 20250609111611.0 010 $a3-319-98785-2 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-319-98785-9 035 $a(CKB)4100000005958135 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5500274 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-319-98785-9 035 $a(PPN)22991960X 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6242232 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000005958135 100 $a20180825d2018 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aAntiseptic Stewardship $eBiocide Resistance and Clinical Implications /$fby Günter Kampf 205 $a1st ed. 2018. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2018. 215 $a1 online resource (722 pages) 311 08$a3-319-98784-4 327 $a1. However, not all antiseptic agents provide significant health benefits, especially in some products used in human medicine (alcohol-based hand rubs, antimicrobial soaps). While some products (antimicrobial soaps, surface disinfectants, instrument disinfectants, wound antiseptics) may contain one or more biocidal agents with a comparable antimicrobial efficacy but large differences in their potential for microbial adaptation and tolerance. An increased bacterial resistance has been described for various antimicrobial agents, sometimes including a cross-resistance to antibiotics. The book is the first comprehensive reference resource on antiseptic agents, including their efficacy, natural and acquired resistance, adaptation, and cross-resistance. It also discusses their and appropriate use in terms of a balance between their efficacy and the risk of acquired bacterial resistance / tolerance. Focusing on human and veterinary medicine and household products, it helps readers make informed decisions concerning against antiseptic products based on their composition. The book contributes to reduce any unnecessary selection pressure towards emerging pathogens and to keep the powerful antiseptic agents for all those applications that have a clear benefit (e.g. reduction of healthcare-associated infection). 606 $aMedical microbiology 606 $aInfectious diseases 606 $aEnvironmental health 606 $aMedical Microbiology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/B16003 606 $aInfectious Diseases$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H33096 606 $aEnvironmental Health$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/U18005 615 0$aMedical microbiology. 615 0$aInfectious diseases. 615 0$aEnvironmental health. 615 14$aMedical Microbiology. 615 24$aInfectious Diseases. 615 24$aEnvironmental Health. 676 $a614.48 700 $aKampf$b Günter$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01062572 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910298412003321 996 $aAntiseptic Stewardship$92526732 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01567nas 2200445-- 450 001 9910138980803321 005 20260218113009.0 035 $a(CKB)958480292424 035 $a(CONSER)---79640108- 035 $a(DE-599)2665425-8 035 $a(EXLCZ)99958480292424 100 $a20780831b19781993 --- a 101 0 $aeng 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 200 00$aComputer/law journal 210 $aRolling Hills Estates, Calif$cCenter for Computer/Law 215 $a1 online resource 300 $aEach issue devoted to a single topic and includes: bibliography, case digest, and statutory compilation. 311 08$aPrint version: Computer/law journal.
