At the same time large parts of them have been dominated by state languages, especially Russian and Chinese. On a local level the languages of the autochthonous people often play a role parallel to the central national language. The contributions of this conference proceeding follow up on topics such as: What was or is collected and how can it be used under changed conditions in the research landscape, how does it help local ethnic communities to understand and preserve their own culture and language? Do the spatially dispersed but often networked collections support research on the ground? What contribution do these collections make to the local languages and cultures against the backdrop of dwindling attention to endangered groups? These and other questions are discussed against the background of the important role libraries and private collections play for multiethnic societies in often remote regions that are difficult to reach. 517 $aMultiethnic Societies of Central Asia and Siberia Represented in Indigenous Oral and Written Literature 606 $aSociety & social sciences$2bicssc 610 $aindigenous literature 610 $amultiethnic societies 610 $aCentral Asia 610 $aSiberia 615 7$aSociety & social sciences 700 $aSchatz$b Merle$4auth$01300591 702 $aBarnett$b Robert$4auth 702 $aBitkeev$b P.T$4auth 702 $aBitkeeva$b G.S$4auth 702 $aEli$b Merhaba$4auth 702 $aFaggionato$b Christian$4auth 702 $aGrinevich$b Anna A$4auth 702 $aHojam Pekiniy$b Ahmet$4auth 702 $aKasten$b Erich$4auth 702 $aLizunova$b Irina V$4auth 702 $aMandrinina$b Lyudmila A$4auth 702 $aOmakaeva$b Ellara$4auth 702 $aPshenichnaya$b Evgeniya V$4auth 702 $aQahiri$b Tahir Mutällip$4auth 702 $aReckel$b Johannes$4auth 702 $aRogaar$b Eva$4auth 702 $aRykova$b Valentina V$4auth 702 $aSchatz$b Merle$4auth 702 $aSteenberg Reyhe$b Rune$4auth 702 $aSuleymanovna$b Madzhun Djamilya$4auth 702 $aYeung$b Jessica$4auth 702 $aÖzkan$b Deniz$4auth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910627227703321 996 $aMultiethnic Societies of Central Asia and Siberia Represented in Indigenous Oral and Written Literature$93025592 997 $aUNINA
