Conclusion. 330 $aThis book explores 'why some people experience post-traumatic growth leading to greater wisdom and others do not? and suggests that a critical variable is how one copes with that trauma: individuals who actively reflect on their experiences of trauma should develop higher levels of self-transcendent wisdom. This same dynamic has been shown both in research studies of post-traumatic growth and by therapists working with people who have experienced trauma, but these two bodies of work have rarely been brought into direct conversation with each other. In this volume, wisdom researchers and therapists with direct experience with trauma survivors comment on each other?s ideas about how coping with adversity can lead to wisdom, and how their proposed models of developing wisdom incorporate the act of coping with a stressful or traumatic event. Based on a synthetic integration of the recommendations in each chapter, the book concludes with the introduction of a new conceptual framework that can better help even individuals who experience significant stressors in their life to cope well and develop wisdom that will be both theoretically robust and practically useful. 410 0$aLifelong Learning Book Series,$x2730-5325 ;$v30 606 $aMaturation (Psychology) 606 $aLife skills 606 $aCounseling 606 $aCognitive psychology 606 $aPsychology 606 $aPersonal Development 606 $aLife Skills 606 $aCounseling Psychology 606 $aCognitive Psychology 606 $aBehavioral Sciences and Psychology 606 $aTraumes psíquics$2thub 606 $aBenestar$2thub 606 $aAspectes psicològics$2thub 608 $aLlibres electrònics$2thub 615 0$aMaturation (Psychology). 615 0$aLife skills. 615 0$aCounseling. 615 0$aCognitive psychology. 615 0$aPsychology. 615 14$aPersonal Development. 615 24$aLife Skills. 615 24$aCounseling Psychology. 615 24$aCognitive Psychology. 615 24$aBehavioral Sciences and Psychology. 615 7$aTraumes psíquics 615 7$aBenestar 615 7$aAspectes psicològics 676 $a616.8521 676 $a155.25 702 $aMunroe$b Melanie 702 $aFerrari$b Michel$f1959- 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910624399003321 996 $aPost-traumatic growth to psychological well-being$93058928 997 $aUNINA
