It discusses Leon Festinger's 1956 book When Prophecy Fails, which offered one of the first published case studies of cognitive dissonance; presents research on cognitive dissonance by such key figures as Festinger and Carlsmith, Aronson and Mills, Laird, and Santos; and outlines the essential components of cognitive dissonance as defined by Cooper and Fazio. 606 $aCognitive dissonance 608 $aDocumentary films.$2lcgft 615 0$aCognitive dissonance. 701 $aSparrow$b Betsy$01439624 702 $aBroadhurst$b Robert$4pro 801 0$bVaAlASP 801 1$bVaAlASP 906 $aVIDEO 912 $a9910596955403321 996 $aCognitive Dissonance$93601931 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03805nam 22005893 450 001 9910130616103321 005 20240912173117.0 010 $a88-8453-605-7 035 $a(CKB)3400000000020492 035 $a(ItFiC)it 07580460 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/82219 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC31860906 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL31860906 035 $a(Perlego)3249849 035 $a(EXLCZ)993400000000020492 100 $a20090207d2007 uy 0 101 0 $aita 135 $aurmn|---annan 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aCapitalismo distrettuale, localismi d'impresa, globalizzazione /$fa cura di Giuseppe Garofalo ; premessa di Guido Maria Rey ; testimonianza di Carlo Azeglio Ciampi 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aFirenze $cFirenze University Press$d2007 215 $a395 p 225 1 $aStudi e saggi 300 $aCollected essays. 311 08$a88-5518-850-X 311 08$a88-8453-606-5 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 330 $aFrom the late Sixties on, industrial development in Italy evolved through the spread of small and medium sized firms, aggregated in district networks, with an elevated propensity to enterprise and the marked presence of owner-families. Installed within the local systems, the industrial districts tended to simulate large-scale industry exploiting lower costs generated by factors that were not only economic. The districts are characterised in terms of territorial location (above all the thriving areas of the North-east and Centre) and sector, since they are concentrated in the "4 As" (clothing-fashion, home-decor, agri-foodstuffs, automation-mechanics), with some overlapping with "Made in Italy". How can this model be assessed? This is the crucial question in the debate on the condition and prospects of the Italian productive system between the supporters of its capacity to adapt and the critics of economic dwarfism. A dispassionate judgement suggests that the prospects of "small is beautiful" have been superseded, but that the "declinist" view, that sees only the dangers of globalisation and the IT revolution for our SMEs is risky. The concept of irreversible crisis that prevails at present is limiting, both because it is not easy either to "invent", or to copy, a model of industrialisation, and because there is space for a strategic repositioning of the district enterprises. The book develops considerations in this direction, showing how an evolution of the district model is possible, focusing on: gains in productivity, scope economies (through diversification and expansion of the range of products), flexibility of organisation, capacity to meld tradition and innovation aiming at product quality, dimensional growth of the enterprises, new forms of financing, active presence on the international markets and valorisation of the resources of the territory. It is hence necessary to reactivate the behavioural functions of the entrepreneurs. 410 0$aStudi e Saggi Series 606 $aEconomics$2bicssc 606 $aEconomics of industrial organisation$2bicssc 606 $aBusiness & management$2bicssc 610 $aEconomia 610 $aImprese 610 $aPMI 610 $aLocalismi d'impresa 610 $aGlobalizzazione 615 7$aEconomics 615 7$aEconomics of industrial organisation 615 7$aBusiness & management 676 $a338 700 $aGarofalo$b Giuseppe$4edt$0118930 701 $aGarofalo$b Giuseppe$0118930 801 0$bItFiC 801 1$bItFiC 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910130616103321 996 $aCapitalismo distrettuale, localismi d'impresa, globalizzazione$92101882 997 $aUNINA
