Material and Methods: Forty mesial canals were filled for: Group 1 with the single cone technique (N°=20), Group with the lateral condensation technique (N°=20). The pieces were instrumented biomechanically with rotary instrumentation (Navigator System) and with constant irrigation and aspiration, the obturation was proceeded, the cement used in the two techniques was based on calcium hydroxide (Sealapex). After 48 hours of obturation and storage, the samples were sectioned horizontally at 4 and 6mm from the apex with a cutting disc in a low speed micro motor with continuous water irrigation, the thickness of each sample was 2mm. Digital photographs of the sections seen through the stereo microscope were taken to measure the images of the sectioned area of ??each canal with the Axio Vision software. The total area (mm2) and the sealed area (mm2) were measured. In this way, the percentage of sealed area was found. Results: We proceeded to perform the data analysis and processing. The T-Student test for independent samples was evidenced with a significant value of 5%. There was a significant difference since it was obtained (p = 0.0001) in the percentage of the filled area on average that was reached with the application of the single cone technique, which was 94.39%, while with the lateral condensation technique it reached 92.83%. 330 $aEste libro es una adaptación de una investigación presentada en la Universidad Nacional del Altiplano, cuyo objetivo fue evaluar comparativamente el porcentaje del área obturada con gutapercha en el tercio apical de los conductos mesiales de los primeros molares inferiores con las técnicas de cono único y condensación lateral. Material y Métodos: Cuarenta conductos mesiales fueron obturados para el: Grupo 1 con la técnica de cono único (N°=20), Grupo con la técnica de condensación lateral (N°=20). Las piezas fueron instrumentadas biomecanicamente con instrumentación rotatoria (Sistema Navigator) y con constante irrigación y aspiración, se procedió a la obturación, el cemento empleado en las dos técnicas fue a base de hidróxido de calcio (Sealapex). Luego de 48 horas de obturadas y almacenadas las muestras se seccionaron horizontalmente a 4 y 6mm del ápice con un disco de corte en un micro motor de baja velocidad con riego de agua continuo, el grosor de cada muestra fue de 2mm. Se tomaron fotografías digitales de los cortes vistos a través del estéreo microscopio para realizar la medición de las imágenes del área seccionada de cada conducto con el software Axio Visión. Se midió el área total (mm2) y el área obturada (mm2). De esa manera se halló el porcentaje de área obturada. Resultados: Se procedió a realizar el análisis y procesamiento de datos. Se evidencio la prueba de T-Student para las muestras independientes con un valor significativo de 5%.
