Dismantling the use of the term 'Anthropocene' as a descriptor for our current ecological and political paradigm, this bold and resolutely original contribution proposes a restorative ethics of mutualism. An emancipatory theory intended to re-invigorate human agency in the face of contemporary ecological challenges, it posits an effective means to combat the environmental destruction engendered by modernity. Using ecology alongside European moral and Ma?ori philosophies to re-conceptualise the ecological remit of politics, this book's granular approach questions the role played by contemporary political ontologies in the separation of humans and environments, offering an in-depth view of their renewed interrelation under mutualism. Ecocene Politics will be essential to researchers and students in the fields of politics, philosophy, sociology, anthropology, and geography. It will be of further interest to those working in the fields of political ecology, environmental humanities, and Anthropocene studies, as well as to general readers seeking a theoretical approach to the political issues posed by current ecological crises." 606 $aEnvironmental management 615 0$aEnvironmental management. 676 $a363.7 700 $aTa?na?sescu$b Mihnea$0788132 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910571788603321 996 $aEcocene Politics$93012565 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03453nam 2200553 450 001 9910765821703321 005 20230126213725.0 035 $a(CKB)3710000000534582 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001680276 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)16496199 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001680276 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)15028475 035 $a(PQKB)11258921 035 $a(OCoLC)1020250463 035 $a(WaSeSS)IndRDA00057602 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000534582 100 $a20160829h20152015 uy 0 101 0 $ager 135 $aurcn#nnn||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aEndlose Kälte $eWitterungsverlauf und Getreidepreise in den Burgundischen Niederlanden im 15. This applies in particular to the pre-industrial period. This volume presents a comprehensive and detailed climate reconstruction for the area of the Burgundian Low Countries in the 15th century. The reconstruction consists of two parts. Detailed weather descriptions from contemporary sources are complemented by systematised indices of seasonal temperature and precipitation patterns. The climate reconstruction serves as the basis for research on the impact of the weather on the economy of the Burgundian Low Countries. For the late Middle Ages grain prices are a very reliable economic indicator. Grain, an indispensable staple food and important merchandise, is directly exposed to the weather for the major part of the year. Statistical analyses of the price development of different grains in conjunction with the seasonal climate indices show a close interlinkage of the two variables. However, climate condition is only one of many factors impacting on grain price; the other factors are also presented and discussed in detail. Finally, the analysis of the development of grain prices reveals three phases of clearly increased prices in the 15th century: during the second half of the 1430s, at the beginning of the 1480s and during the last years of the 1480s until the beginning of the 1490s. The reasons for these grain price peaks, including weather conditions but also economic, political and other factors are outlined in the volume. 410 0$aWirtschafts-, Sozial- und Umweltgeschichte ;$vBand 5. 606 $aWork environment$zNetherlands$xHistory$vEarly works to 1800 606 $aFiars prices$xHistory$vEarly works to 1800 606 $aAgriculture$zNetherlands$xCold weather conditions$xHistory$yTo 1500 607 $aNetherlands$xSocial conditions 615 0$aWork environment$xHistory 615 0$aFiars prices$xHistory 615 0$aAgriculture$xCold weather conditions$xHistory 676 $a940.1 700 $aCamenisch$b Chantal$0952374 801 0$bPQKB 801 2$bAuAdUSA 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910765821703321 996 $aEndlose Kälte$92152943 997 $aUNINA
