In recent decades, this, combined with rural abandonment and landscape polarisation, has resulted in high land ownership concentrations and agricultural intensification. This, in turn, has resulted in a significant decrease in the resilience of agriculture and overall food systems and threatens the maintenance of traditional indigenous and peasant farming. Therefore, there is an urgent need to reconnect society with the sustainable use of agroecosystems by fostering resilient social?ecological systems, emphasising the links between the functioning of natural systems and human well-being, and stressing the benefits that people derive from them. This Special Issue aims to highlight impactful research and commentaries that focus on attempts to connect people with nature for the promotion of sustainable agricultural transitions. This Issue embraces inter- and trans-disciplinary studies from multiple disciplines (e.g., agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, geography, economy, and sociology), as well as those incorporating other knowledge systems (e.g., local and indigenous) in the co-construction of knowledge for sustainable agriculture, including studies in rural areas (e.g., GIAHS or HNV farmland) and initiatives that address urban?rural relationships or those developed within metropolitan areas (e.g., community-supported agriculture, food hubs, domestic gardens, multifunctional agriculture, and farmers´ or consumers´ cooperatives) and studies assessing the societal and ecological impacts of those initiatives. 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 610 $acommunity supported agriculture 610 $aalternative food networks 610 $aspatial proximity 610 $arelational proximity 610 $across-national case study 610 $asustainable agriculture 610 $arural-urban interaction 610 $aagroecology 610 $ayouth 610 $ahuman-nature connectedness 610 $asustainability transitions 610 $adepopulation 610 $aecological agriculture 610 $awater conservation 610 $adouble-hurdle model 610 $ainterpretative structural modeling 610 $aadoptions 610 $athreatened plant 610 $aagriculture 610 $aSpain 610 $aland use 610 $aconservation 610 $ahuman-nature reconnection 610 $acultural landscapes 610 $adrivers of change 610 $alandscape planning 610 $alandscape stewardship 610 $amixed methods 610 $aparticipatory governance 610 $arural abandonment 610 $astakeholder inclusion 610 $aurban growth 610 $aparticipatory mapping 610 $aecosystem services 610 $ademand 610 $aPGIS 610 $aagricultural landscapes 610 $ahuman nature connectedness 610 $aagricultural innovations 610 $amulti-level perspective 610 $aagricultural knowledge and innovation systems (AKIS) 610 $aconservative agriculture practices 610 $aknowledge co-production 610 $amediterranean horticulture 610 $aintegrated pest management 610 $agreenhouses 610 $asoil health 610 $abiological control 610 $apond naturalisation 610 $acollective action 610 $asocio-ecological systems 610 $asustainable agricultural transition 610 $aconsumers/citizens 610 $asustainable consumption 610 $ainnovative business models 610 $aalternative agri-food networks (AAFNs) 610 $ahuman-nature connectedness (HNC) 610 $amulti-level perspective (MLP) 610 $acommunity-supported agriculture (CSA) 610 $acooperatives 610 $afood systems governance 610 $apublic policy 610 $ainclusive multilateralism 610 $arights-based approach 610 $abiodiversity 610 $aclimate change 610 $anature 610 $afoodshed archipelago 610 $aproximity food supply chains 610 $aspatial signature 610 $acity-region 610 $afood self-sufficiency 610 $aregional food security 610 $aagricultural diversification 610 $afood planning 610 $aregional food system 610 $afood policy 610 $asocioecological systems 610 $alocal identity 610 $aworld heritage site 615 7$aResearch & information: general 700 $aVicente-Vicente$b Jose?
