In about two-thirds of cases, this is caused by severe spermatogenic dysfunction, and it is commonly termed "nonobstructive azoospermia" (NOA) to differentiate it from the less severe form of azoospermia caused by the obstruction of the seminal tract (obstructive azoospermia-OA), the latter affecting the remaining one-third of cases. Managing patients with NOA is challenging due to the severity of spermatogenic dysfunction and the lack of medical treatments, with surgical retrieval of testicular sperm being the only way of enabling some of these patients to father their own biological children. In-depth clinical knowledge is key for supporting clinical reasoning and decision making when counselling patients with NOA, and surgical skill is required to maximize the outcome of surgical procedures that aim to retrieve testicular sperm. The present book is a collection of scientific papers published in a Special Issue of the Journal of Clinical Medicine, authored by some of the most influential researchers in the field. The Special Issue, and thus also this book, were conceived to provide early career reproductive urologists and endocrinologists with an update of the scientific evidence in the field, together with surgical tips. 517 $aUpdate on the Management of Non-Obstructive Azoospermia 606 $aMedicine and Nursing$2bicssc 606 $aPharmacology$2bicssc 610 $aazoospermia 610 $acancer 610 $acryopreservation 610 $adiagnosis 610 $aendocrine evaluation 610 $aexome 610 $aFSH treatment 610 $ageneral health 610 $agenes 610 $agenetic testing 610 $agenetics 610 $ahormonal treatment 610 $ahypogonadism 610 $aICSI 610 $ain vitro maturation 610 $ainfertility 610 $aintracytoplasmic sperm injection 610 $amale infertility 610 $amanagement 610 $amicro-TESE 610 $amicrodissection testicular sperm extraction 610 $amicrofluidics 610 $amicroTESE 610 $an/a 610 $anew technologies 610 $aNOA 610 $anon-obstructive azoospermia 610 $anonobstructive azoospermia 610 $aoffspring health 610 $aprediction model 610 $aprocessing 610 $areview 610 $aSertoli cell-only syndrome 610 $asperm 610 $asperm retrieval 610 $asperm selection 610 $aspermatogenic failure 610 $atesticular azoospermia 610 $atesticular spermatozoa 610 $atestis biopsy 610 $atestosterone level 610 $aWES 610 $aY chromosome 615 7$aMedicine and Nursing 615 7$aPharmacology 700 $aColpi$b Giovanni M$4edt$01327936 702 $aCaroppo$b Ettore$4edt 702 $aColpi$b Giovanni M$4oth 702 $aCaroppo$b Ettore$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910566472803321 996 $aUpdate on the Management of Non-Obstructive Azoospermia: Current Evidence and Unmet Needs$93038297 997 $aUNINA
