On the other hand, the abuse of salt frequently leads to increases in blood pressure and contributes to the development of hypertension, particularly in overweight or obese people, in people with diabetes, in the elderly, and in genetically predisposed subjects. This Special Issue aims to provide a better understanding of the relationship between sodium intake and related diseases, in particular: (i) the effect on health status and description of the biochemical processes involved; and (ii) the use of salt and related risks. The main topics are studies in the management and treatment of sodium-intake-related diseases, epidemiological studies of the relationship between salt intake and related diseases, focuses on the mechanism of action; delineation of the mechanisms of action, and in vitro and in vivo studies. 606 $aBiology, life sciences$2bicssc 606 $aFood & society$2bicssc 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 610 $aambulatory heart failure 610 $ablood pressure 610 $acardiovascular risk 610 $aENaC 610 $aepidemiological studies 610 $aheart failure 610 $ahigh potassium 610 $ahypertension 610 $ainflammation 610 $aleaky epithelia 610 $amineralocorticoid receptor 610 $amortality 610 $aMST3 610 $an/a 610 $aNa+ cotransport 610 $aNKCC2 610 $aOSR1 610 $aprognosis 610 $aRac1 610 $arenal injury 610 $asalt 610 $asalt intake 610 $asalt-sensitive hypertension 610 $asodium 610 $aSPAK 610 $aSTK24 610 $atight junction 610 $aWNK4 615 7$aBiology, life sciences 615 7$aFood & society 615 7$aResearch & information: general 700 $aStrazzullo$b Pasquale$4edt$01295521 702 $aSantini$b Antonello$4edt 702 $aLucarini$b Massimo$4edt 702 $aDurazzo$b Alessandra$4edt 702 $aLombardi-Boccia$b Ginevra$4edt 702 $aSette$b Stefania$4edt 702 $aStrazzullo$b Pasquale$4oth 702 $aSantini$b Antonello$4oth 702 $aLucarini$b Massimo$4oth 702 $aDurazzo$b Alessandra$4oth 702 $aLombardi-Boccia$b Ginevra$4oth 702 $aSette$b Stefania$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910566468003321 996 $aSodium Intake and Related Diseases$93023571 997 $aUNINA
