The focus of this Special Issue includes aspects concerning plasmid-mediated antimicrobial resistance along with other carbapenem resistance mechanisms. Understanding the prevalence and routes of transmission of CRE is important in developing specific interventions for healthcare facilities, as well as the general impact of CRE circulation on the environment. Attention has also been focused on carbapenemase testing in order to provide advanced phenotypic and molecular assays for the identification of CRE, as a valid tool for active global surveillance, and from this perspective, the study of resistance mechanisms can provide significant support for the development of new and appropriate antimicrobial molecules. For all of these reasons, the phenomenon of carbapenem resistance deserves more attention, for the sake of public health. 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 606 $aBiology, life sciences$2bicssc 606 $aMicrobiology (non-medical)$2bicssc 610 $acarbapenem resistance 610 $acarbapenemase 610 $awhole genome sequencing 610 $along reads, plasmid 610 $aKlebsiella pneumoniae 610 $aextensively drug-resistant 610 $amolecular typing 610 $acarbapenemases 610 $aEnterobacteriales 610 $ahuman 610 $aanimal 610 $afood 610 $aenvironment 610 $acarbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales 610 $aKPC 610 $acarbapenem 610 $amultidrug resistance 610 $anosocomial 610 $aEnterobacteriaceae 610 $aESBL 610 $aresistance genes 610 $acattle 610 $ablaOXA-48 610 $aERIC-PCR 610 $aplasmid profile analysis 610 $abiofilm formation 610 $aPCR-based replicon typing 610 $aantibiotic-resistance 610 $asequence types 610 $amultilocus sequence typing 610 $aplasmids 610 $aantimicrobial resistance 610 $acarbapenem inactivation method 610 $acarbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales 610 $areal-time multiplex PCR 610 $awhole-genome sequencing 610 $acarbapenem-resistance 610 $aQatar 610 $aCRE 610 $aOXA-48 610 $acarbapenems resistance 610 $aGram-negative bacteria 610 $ainfection 610 $acolonization 610 $aCOVID-19 610 $aK. pneumoniae 610 $aporins 610 $aceftazidime/avibactam 610 $aESKAPE 610 $ahealthcare-associated infections 610 $aantimicrobial peptides 610 $aTemporin L 610 $aKlebsiella michiganensis 610 $aCitrobacter farmeri 610 $aKPC-2 610 $aplasmid 610 $atransposon 610 $acarbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) 610 $aoutbreak 610 $ainfection control 610 $apulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) 610 $amultilocus sequence typing (MLST) 610 $aIMP-6 610 $aporin 610 $aefflux pump 610 $anosocomial infections 610 $aNDM-1 610 $aFourier transform infrared spectroscopy 610 $aEazyplex® SuperBug CRE assay 610 $aextended-spectrum beta-lactamases 610 $agram-negative rods 610 $aLAMP method 610 $aNDM 610 $aVIM 610 $amolecular epidemiology 610 $aPFGE 610 $aCarbapenemase producing Enterobacterales 610 $aIncX-3 610 $aone health 610 $awater 610 $acolistin susceptibility testing 610 $abroth microdilution 610 $acolistin broth disc elution 610 $aVitek 2 compact 610 $arapid polymyxin NP test 610 $aEtest 610 $aChromID colistin R agar 610 $amicronaut MIC-strip colistin 610 $apopulation analysis profiling 610 $aEnterobacterales 610 $aneonates 610 $aplasmid-typing 610 $asequence type 610 $awastewater 610 $avirulence 615 7$aResearch & information: general 615 7$aBiology, life sciences 615 7$aMicrobiology (non-medical) 700 $aAndreoni$b Francesca$4edt$01295520 702 $aAndreoni$b Francesca$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910566466503321 996 $aCarbapenemase-Producing Enterobacterales$93023570 997 $aUNINA
