Today we have modern woodworking machine and tools; however, the raw wood materials available are continuously declining. Therefore we are forced to use this precious material more economically, reducing waste wherever possible. This new textbook on the ?Mechanics of Wood Machining? combines the quantitative, mathematical analysis of the mechanisms of wood processing with practical recommendations and solutions. Bringing together materials from many sources, the book contains new theoretical and experimental approaches and offers a clear and systematic overview of the theory of wood cutting, thermal loading in wood-cutting tools, dynamic behaviour of tool and work piece, optimum choice of operational parameters and energy consumption, the wear process of the tools, and the general regularities of wood surface roughness. Diagrams are provided for the quick estimation of various process parameters. This book will be useful for scientists, graduate and postgraduate students, and practising engineers seeking a deeper understanding of physical phenomena associated with real woodworking processes. 606 $aWoodwork 606 $aCarpentry 615 0$aWoodwork. 615 0$aCarpentry. 676 $a674 700 $aCsandy$b Etele$01060862 701 $aMagoss$b Endre$01060863 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910437761803321 996 $aMechanics of wood machining$92515974 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04638nam 22007575 450 001 9910558490703321 005 20251113211814.0 010 $a3-662-64654-4 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-662-64654-0 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6946223 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL6946223 035 $a(CKB)21462877000041 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC7241877 035 $a(OCoLC)1309129712 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-662-64654-0 035 $a(EXLCZ)9921462877000041 100 $a20220404d2022 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aMedical Decision Making $eA Health Economic Primer /$fby Stefan Felder, Thomas Mayrhofer 205 $a3rd ed. 2022. 210 1$aBerlin, Heidelberg :$cSpringer Berlin Heidelberg :$cImprint: Springer,$d2022. 215 $a1 online resource (330 pages) 225 1 $aEconomics and Finance Series 311 08$aPrint version: Felder, Stefan Medical Decision Making Berlin, Heidelberg : Springer Berlin / Heidelberg,c2022 9783662646533 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aChapter 1. Imperfect Agency and Non-Expected Utility Models. 330 $aThis textbook offers a comprehensive analysis of medical decision-making under uncertainty by combining test information theory with expected utility theory. The authors show how the parameters of Bayes? theorem can be combined with a value function of health states in order to arrive at informed test and treatment decisions in the face of diagnostic and therapeutic risks. Distinguishing between risk-neutral, risk-averse, and prudent decision-makers, they demonstrate the effects of risk preferences on medical decisions. Furthermore, they analyze individual and multiple tests as well as diagnostic models in which the decision-maker chooses the test outcome. The consequences of test and treatment decisions for the patient are encompassed by quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) and the standard economic model, which applies the willingness to pay for health approach. Lastly, non-expected utility models of choice under risk and uncertainty are presented. Although these models can explainsome of the test and treatment decisions observed, they are less suitable for normative analyses aimed at providing guidance on medical decision-making. This third edition provides extensively revised versions of all chapters and reflects recent innovations in medical decision-making such as decision curve analysis. New chapters focus on the health economics of and revealed preferences in medical decisions. The book is intended for students of (health) economics and medicine as well as for medical decision-makers and physicians dealing with uncertainty in their test and treatment decisions. 410 0$aEconomics and Finance Series 606 $aMedical economics 606 $aPublic health 606 $aHealth services administration 606 $aEpidemiology 606 $aOperations research 606 $aBiometry 606 $aHealth Economics 606 $aPublic Health 606 $aHealth Care Management 606 $aEpidemiology 606 $aOperations Research and Decision Theory 606 $aBiostatistics 615 0$aMedical economics. 615 0$aPublic health. 615 0$aHealth services administration. 615 0$aEpidemiology. 615 0$aOperations research. 615 0$aBiometry. 615 14$aHealth Economics. 615 24$aPublic Health. 615 24$aHealth Care Management. 615 24$aEpidemiology. 615 24$aOperations Research and Decision Theory. 615 24$aBiostatistics. 676 $a610 700 $aFelder$b Stefan$f1960-$01269260 702 $aMayrhofer$b Thomas 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910558490703321 996 $aMedical decision making$92986746 997 $aUNINA
