LDHs, which are also referred to as anionic clays or hydrotalcites, are a wide class of inorganic ionic lamellar clay materials consisting of alternately stacked positively charged metal hydroxide layers with intercalated charge-balancing anions in hydrated interlayer regions. Their unique properties, such as their extremely high versatility in chemical composition and intercalation ability, extraordinary tuneability in composition as well as morphology, good biocompatibility and high anion exchangeability, have triggered immense interdisciplinary interest for their use in many different fields of chemistry, biology, medicine, and physics. Indeed, the applications of LDHs are constantly growing: LDHs, in the form of aggregated lamellar clusters, exfoliated single-layer nanosheets, or hierarchical films of interconnected nanoplatelets, can be effectively used as nanoscale vehicles in drug delivery, heterogeneous catalysts and supports for molecular catalysts, ion exchangers and adsorbents, solid electrolytes or fillers in electrochemistry, for the fabrication of superhydrophobic surfaces, water treatment and purification, and the synthesis of functional thin films. This book gathers the contributions to the Special Issue ?Layered Double Hydroxides? of Crystals, which includes two review articles and seven research papers. 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 610 $alayered double hydroxide 610 $amemory effect 610 $arare earth 610 $aeuropium 610 $a1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid 610 $aalginate beads 610 $agreen sorbent 610 $aselective adsorption 610 $aheavy metals 610 $atetracycline 610 $ametal hydroxides 610 $alayered double hydroxides 610 $aremoval 610 $awater sample 610 $aBacillus subtilis 610 $asurfactin 610 $aquantitative analysis 610 $afermentation 610 $agrowth phase 610 $acellular biology 610 $acatalysis 610 $aDNA 610 $adrug delivery 610 $ahydrotalcite 610 $aosteogenesis 610 $aphotocatalysis 610 $aRNA. 610 $aantimonate uptake 610 $amine water 610 $abrandholzite 610 $azincalstibite 610 $airon precursor 610 $aacidic residual solution 610 $aLDH synthesis 610 $aMo(VI) adsorption 610 $aresveratrol 610 $asolid lipid nanoparticles 610 $aendurance exercise 610 $amitochondrial nutrients 610 $amitochondrial quality control 610 $aorigin of life 610 $alayer double hydroxide 610 $asynthetic biology 610 $abioinspired devices 610 $abiosensors 610 $abioanalysis 615 7$aResearch & information: general 700 $aPrestopino$b Giuseppe$4edt$01311287 702 $aArrabito$b Giuseppe$4edt 702 $aPrestopino$b Giuseppe$4oth 702 $aArrabito$b Giuseppe$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557768703321 996 $aLayered Double Hydroxides$93030201 997 $aUNINA
