The possibility to prevent and/or support pharmacological therapy, which is nowadays mainly based on pharmaceuticals, can be a powerful tool to face pathological, chronic, long-term diseases in subjects who do not qualify for a pharmacological therapy. Nutraceuticals are obtained from vegetal or animal origin foods, and prospective research on these products will clarify their role, safety and efficacy by substantiating their role with clinical data. An effort to clarify their mechanism of action will open a door to the next generation of therapeutic agents that do not propose themselves as an alternative to drugs, but, instead, can be helpful to complement a pharmacological therapy, and to prevent the onset of chronical diseases. The market as well as the interest of people in naturally-derived remedies and less synthetic pharmaceuticals is growing, and the attention of the collective public imagination is nowadays more strongly focused on these food-derived products. This Special Issue is dedicated to the role of and perspectives on nutraceuticals in human health, examined from different angles ranging from analytical aspects to clinical trials, and from efficacy studies to beneficial effects on health conditions. 606 $aBiology, life sciences$2bicssc 606 $aFood & society$2bicssc 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 610 $a3T3-L1 preadipocytes 610 $aAc-?-tubulin 610 $aAllium sativum 610 $aanalysis 610 $aanthocyanins 610 $aanti-adipogenic effects 610 $aanti-inflammatory 610 $aantimicrobial 610 $aantioxidant 610 $aantioxidant capacity 610 $aapigenin 610 $aapoptosis 610 $aapplications 610 $abioactive compounds 610 $abioactive polysaccharides 610 $abiomedical applications 610 $abiorefinery 610 $acarotenoid 610 $acervical cancer cells 610 $achemometrics 610 $acherry 610 $acholesterol 610 $aclinical tests 610 $acopper sulfate 610 $acupric ions 610 $adefatted flour 610 $adegradation 610 $aefficacy 610 $aegg quality 610 $aemulsifying properties 610 $aemulsion stability 610 $aenergy homeostasis 610 $aextraction 610 $afatty acids 610 $afenugreek seed 610 $aferrous ions 610 $aflavonoids 610 $aformulation 610 $aFTIR spectroscopy 610 $afulvic acids 610 $afunctional beverage 610 $agarlic 610 $agene expression 610 $aginger water 610 $agrape 610 $agrape seeds 610 $agrowth inhibition 610 $aHaugh unit 610 $ahealth 610 $ahuman health 610 $aHUVEC 610 $aintestinal absorption 610 $airon 610 $alinseed 610 $aluteolin 610 $amedicinal food 610 $amedicinal foods 610 $amineral 610 $ananoparticles 610 $ananosystems 610 $anutraceuticals 610 $aobesity 610 $aoxidative status 610 $aphenolic compounds 610 $aPlatycodon grandiflorus 610 $apolyphenols 610 $aprotein concentrate 610 $aPrunus serotine 610 $arat 610 $aregulation 610 $asafety 610 $asaponins 610 $asoluble protein 610 $aspirulina 610 $ayolk 610 $ayolk color 610 $a?-carboline alkaloids 615 7$aBiology, life sciences 615 7$aFood & society 615 7$aResearch & information: general 700 $aDurazzo$b Alessandra$4edt$01296666 702 $aLucarini$b Massimo$4edt 702 $aSantini$b Antonello$4edt 702 $aDurazzo$b Alessandra$4oth 702 $aLucarini$b Massimo$4oth 702 $aSantini$b Antonello$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557765703321 996 $aNutraceuticals in Human Health$93035965 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05103nam 22007095 450 001 9910544875503321 005 20251107172427.0 010 $a981-16-3215-4 024 7 $a10.1007/978-981-16-3215-0 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6887019 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL6887019 035 $a(CKB)21167561800041 035 $a(PPN)260830259 035 $a(OCoLC)1302008242 035 $a(DE-He213)978-981-16-3215-0 035 $a(EXLCZ)9921167561800041 100 $a20220210d2021 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aAdvances in Fisheries Biotechnology /$fedited by Pramod Kumar Pandey, Janmejay Parhi 205 $a1st ed. 2021. 210 1$aSingapore :$cSpringer Nature Singapore :$cImprint: Springer,$d2021. 215 $a1 online resource (524 pages) 225 1 $aBiomedical and Life Sciences Series 311 08$aPrint version: Pandey, Pramod Kumar Advances in Fisheries Biotechnology Singapore : Springer Singapore Pte. Application of the recent biotechnological tools, like Transcriptomics, Transgenesis, Nanotechnology, Metabolomics, RNAi and CRISPRi Technologies in the field of fisheries research are included in the book. Topics like conservation genetics for management of fishery resources are also covered in the book. It aims at addressing the growing need of the biotechnology in advancing the cause of aquaculture with a view to provide food and nutritional security to the world. This book will be of immense use to teachers, researchers, academicians, development officials and policymakers, involved in R&D of fisheries and aquaculture sectors. Also, the book serves as an additional reading material for undergraduate and graduate students of fisheries, marine sciences, ecology, aquaculture, and environmental sciences. The research in aquaculture biotechnology is likely to have significant impact on aquaculture and fisheries by way of supporting nutritional food security to the growing population. 410 0$aBiomedical and Life Sciences Series 606 $aFreshwater ecology 606 $aMarine ecology 606 $aBiodiversity 606 $aEcology 606 $aOceanography 606 $aEcological genetics 606 $aFreshwater and Marine Ecology 606 $aBiodiversity 606 $aBiooceanography 606 $aEcological Genetics 615 0$aFreshwater ecology. 615 0$aMarine ecology. 615 0$aBiodiversity. 615 0$aEcology. 615 0$aOceanography. 615 0$aEcological genetics. 615 14$aFreshwater and Marine Ecology. 615 24$aBiodiversity. 615 24$aBiooceanography. 615 24$aEcological Genetics. 676 $a639.2 702 $aParhi$b Janmejay 702 $aPandey$b Pramod Kumar$c(Scientist) 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910544875503321 996 $aAdvances in Fisheries Biotechnology$92706160 997 $aUNINA
