The sea is a cauldron of a great diversity of useful and valuable compounds. This Special Issue focused on studies of marine microbe natural products for discovering compounds useful to humankind. Papers were collected that provide up-to-date information regarding the characterization of marine microbes' metabolic diversity and the evaluation of the therapeutic potential of marine microbes' metabolites. Most of the articles in this book deal with marine fungi, biological and chemical diversity, and their active metabolites. This may be a sign that marine fungi have been under studied to date and are perceived by many researchers as an important source of discovery in this field. A best practices guide for the isolation of marine fungi from different matrixes and their conservation is also presented. The comparison of the phylogenetic and metabolomic profiles of microalgae from different lineages provides novel insights into the potential of chemotaxonomy in marine phytoplankton, showing a good overlap of phylogenetic and chemotaxonomic signals. 606 $aBiology, life sciences$2bicssc 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 610 $aanti-proliferation 610 $aantifungal activity 610 $aantioxidant 610 $aAspergillus flocculosus 610 $abetaine lipids 610 $abiological control 610 $abiosynthetic gene cluster (BGC) 610 $aBotryosphaeria ramose 610 $acarotenoids 610 $acephalimysins 610 $achemotaxonomy 610 $aculturing 610 $acytotoxicities 610 $adeep-sea-derived fungus 610 $aecological role 610 $afungal community 610 $agalactolipids 610 $agentisyl alcohol 610 $aGeosmithia pallida 610 $aidentification 610 $aindole-diketopiperazine 610 $aisocoumarin 610 $aisolation 610 $amamiellales 610 $amarine fungi 610 $amarine fungus 610 $amarine-derived Aspergillus fumigatus 610 $amulti-gene phylogeny 610 $an/a 610 $anatural products 610 $aophiobolins 610 $aoptimization 610 $aPenicillium brasilianum 610 $aphylogenetic analysis 610 $aphylogeny 610 $ared yeast 610 $aRhodotorula sp. 610 $asaltwork 610 $asecondary metabolites 610 $aspiro-heterocyclic ?-lactam 610 $athiodiketopiperazines 610 $atidal flat 610 $atryptamine 610 $atyrosinase inhibition 610 $axanthophylls 615 7$aBiology, life sciences 615 7$aResearch & information: general 700 $aStien$b Didier$4edt$01326280 702 $aStien$b Didier$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557737703321 996 $aMarine Microbial Diversity as a Source of Bioactive Natural Products$93037257 997 $aUNINA
