Prof. Verpoorte has been working in Leiden University over 40 years. There is no need to dwell upon the contributions of Dr. Verpoorte to plant-derived natural products research during his whole life. Dr. Verpoorte was a highly productive scientist throughout his academic career, with over 800 scientific publications in the form of research papers, books, and book chapters. His research interests are very diverse, cover- ing numerous topics related to plant-based natural products such as plant cell biotech- nology, biosynthesis, metabolomics, genetic engineering, and green technology, as well as the isolation of new biologically active compounds. He has left indelible footprints in all these fields, and he is widely recognised as a pioneer in the work of the biosynthesis of indole alkaloids, NMR-based metabolomics, and green technology in natural products production. As close friends and colleagues who have been in nearly daily contact with him over the last 20 years viewing all of these remarkable scientific contributions, we felt compelled to recognize this by the publication of a Special Issue of this journal dedicated to him.Thus, this Special Issue has now finally been released with the help of many of his colleagues and former students as a token of our gratitude to his impressive work.The Special Issue covers five main natural products topics: (1) chemical profiling and metabolomics, (2) separation/isolation and identification of plant specialized metabolites, (3) pharmacognosy of natural products to identify bioactive molecules from natural prod- ucts, (4) novel formulation of natural products, and (5) overview of natural products as a source of bioactive molecules. 517 $aTheme Issue Honoring Professor Robert Verpoorte's 75th Birthday 517 $aTheme Issue Honoring Professor Robert Verpoorte?s 75th Birthday 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 610 $a13C nuclear magnetic resonance 610 $a1H-NMR 610 $a9-O-angeloyl-retronecine N-oxide 610 $aA. dahurica 610 $aalkaloid 610 $aantibacterial assay 610 $aaromatic plants 610 $aback-extraction 610 $aberberine 610 $abioassay 610 $abotanicals 610 $abyakangelicin 610 $acell cycle arrest 610 $acentrifugal partition chromatography 610 $achalcones 610 $achemical cue 610 $achemical profiling 610 $acolorectal cancer 610 $acosmetic industry 610 $acytotoxic activity 610 $adatabases 610 $aDatura 610 $adereplication 610 $adirect analysis in real-time mass spectrometry 610 $adocking 610 $adownregulation 610 $aeffect-directed analysis 610 $aEleutherococcus senticosus 610 $aeleutherosides 610 $aenrichment 610 $aenzyme inhibition assay 610 $aephedra alkaloids 610 $aEphedra sinica 610 $aephedrine 610 $afingerprinting 610 $aflavones 610 $aflax 610 $afruits 610 $aGC-FID-MS 610 $aglucose-uptake 610 $aglycerin 610 $aHCT 116 610 $ahealth food 610 $aherbs 610 $aindole 610 $ainflammation 610 $aionic liquids 610 $akairomone 610 $aLC-MS 610 $alignans 610 $ametabolomics 610 $amethylephedrine 610 $aMexican agastache 610 $amicro-extraction of wool 610 $amolecular docking 610 $amolecular imaging 610 $amolecular structures 610 $an/a 610 $aNacobbus aberrans 610 $anatural extract 610 $anatural products 610 $anatural yellow dye 610 $anematicidal activity 610 $aNMR 610 $aNuBBE database 610 $anutri-pharmacological 610 $aOnonis diffusa 610 $aOnonis variegata 610 $aosmotic stress 610 $aoxylipins 610 $aoxypeucedanin hydrate 610 $aphloridzin 610 $aplum brandy 610 $apotentiation 610 $aprotein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs) 610 $aPsychotria malayana Jack 610 $aPTP-MEG2 610 $apyrrolidine 610 $aquercetagetin derivatives 610 $aReseda luteola L. 610 $aRNA interference 610 $asecoisolariciresinol 610 $asignaling 610 $aSolanaceae 610 $aspectroscopy 610 $astigmasterol 610 $astructure elucidation 610 $ataxonomy 610 $atelomerase 610 $atelomerase inhibitor 610 $atelomere erosion 610 $aterpenoid 610 $atoronjil 610 $atropane 610 $atype 2 diabetes 610 $aUHPLC 610 $aweld 610 $a?-glucosidase inhibitors 610 $a?-terthienyl 610 $a?-analysis 615 7$aResearch & information: general 700 $aChoi$b Young Hae$4edt$01303351 702 $aJang$b Young Pyo$4edt 702 $aDai$b Yuntao$4edt 702 $aSalome?-Abarca$b Luis Francisco$4edt 702 $aChoi$b Young Hae$4oth 702 $aJang$b Young Pyo$4oth 702 $aDai$b Yuntao$4oth 702 $aSalome?-Abarca$b Luis Francisco$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557681203321 996 $aTheme Issue Honoring Professor Robert Verpoorte's 75th Birthday: Past, Current and Future of Natural Products Research$93026932 997 $aUNINA
