At short wavelengths, the photon-ion interactions lead to inner-shell and multiple electron excitations, leading to demands on appropriate laboratory developments of sources and detectors and requiring advanced theoretical treatments which take into account many-body electron-correlation effects. This book includes a range of papers based on different short wavelength photon sources including recent facility and instrumental developments. Topics include experimental photoabsorption studies with laser-produced plasmas and photoionization of atomic and molecular ions with synchrotron and FEL sources, including modifications of a cylindrical mirror analyzer for high efficiency photoelectron spectroscopy on ion beams. Theoretical investigations include the effects of FEL fluctuations on autoionization line shapes, multiple sequential ionization by intense fs XUV pulses, photoelectron angular distributions for non-resonant two-photon ionization, inner-shell photodetachment of Na- and spin-polarized fluxes from fullerene anions. 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 610 $a2s2p 610 $aabsolute cross sections 610 $aangular distributions 610 $aatomic data 610 $aatomic ions 610 $aatomic nitrogen ion 610 $aauto-ionization 610 $acollisional ioniztion 610 $acollisional radiative model 610 $acollisional-radiative model 610 $aCooper minimum 610 $aCowan suite of Codes 610 $adual-laser plasma technique 610 $aelectron spectroscopy 610 $aendohedral fullerene anions 610 $aEUV emission of high Z materials 610 $afemtosecond pulses 610 $afree electron laser 610 $afree-electron laser 610 $afullerene anions 610 $ainner-shell phenomena 610 $ainner-shell photoionization 610 $aion beam 610 $aionization bottleneck 610 $aions 610 $aK-shell 610 $akrypton 610 $alaser-produced plasma, ion distribution 610 $aLithium-ion 610 $amany-electron processes 610 $amerged-beam 610 $amolecular ion 610 $amultiple ionization 610 $an/a 610 $aNH+ 610 $anonlinear interaction 610 $anonlinear photoionization 610 $aPb-Sn alloys 610 $aphotodetachment 610 $aphotoelectron spectroscopy 610 $aphotoionization 610 $aradiative recombination 610 $aspin-polarization 610 $astochastic average 610 $asynchrotron radiation 610 $athree-body recombination 610 $atime dependent density matrix 615 7$aResearch & information: general 700 $aKennedy$b Eugene T$4edt$090165 702 $aCostello$b John T$4edt 702 $aMosnier$b Jean-Paul$4edt 702 $aKennedy$b Eugene T$4oth 702 $aCostello$b John T$4oth 702 $aMosnier$b Jean-Paul$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557614103321 996 $aInteraction of Ionizing Photons with Atomic and Molecular Ions$93022241 997 $aUNINA
