Examples like 'The boy loves his mother very much' and 'The boy has grown a lot' reveal that gradation is not limited to adjectives but verbs are gradable too. Verb gradation has received considerably less attention in the literature than gradation of adjectives. The aim of the current volume is to explore the notion of verb gradation in more detail. The book presents a semantic as well as a syntactic analysis of verb gradation and combines three case studies with a general perspective on the phenomenon. Issues addressed in the volume cover, among others, the notion of scalarity in the verbal domain, the interaction of verb gradation with grammatical as well as lexical aspect and verb gradation as a subcompositional phenomenon. These topics are investigated from a cross-linguistic perspective. The languages of investigation include, among others, German, Russian and French. 410 0$aDissertations in Language and Cognition 606 $aLANGUAGE ARTS & DISCIPLINES / General$2bisacsh 610 $aAktionsart. 610 $aChange of state verbs. 610 $aCollaborative Research Center. 610 $aCompositional patterns. 610 $aCross-categorical distribution. 610 $aCross-linguistic distribution. 610 $aDFG. 610 $aDeutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. 610 $aDissertations in Language and Cognition. 610 $aDoetjes. 610 $aEmission verbs. 610 $aErratic verbs. 610 $aEvent-dependent degree gradation. 610 $aExperiencer verbs. 610 $aFrench. 610 $aGerhard Schurz. 610 $aGerman. 610 $aGrammatical aspect. 610 $aHana Filip. 610 $aHeinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf. 610 $aJapanese degree verb. 610 $aKennedy. 610 $aLaura Kallmeyer. 610 $aManner/result complementarity. 610 $aMcNally. 610 $aObject-experiencer verbs. 610 $aPeter Indefrey. 610 $aPredicate decomposition. 610 $aReference Grammar. 610 $aRobert D. It contains 10 articles that are either original results or reviews. The focus is on insects of the noctuid family, as they are among the most devastating crop pests on the planet. Understanding the molecular mechanisms that allow these insects to become resistant to insecticides is essential for the implementation of sustainable control methods and resistance management strategies. 606 $aBiology, life sciences$2bicssc 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 610 $a1'S-1'-Acetoxychavicol acetate 610 $aABC Transporter 610 $aABCC2 610 $aAlpinia galanga 610 $aATP switch model 610 $aATP-Binding Cassette 610 $aATP-binding cassette transporters 610 $aBacillus thuringiensis 610 $abiological invasion 610 $abotanical pesticide 610 $aBt resistance 610 $acarboxyl/cholinesterases 610 $aChloridea 610 $acorn strain 610 $aCry protein 610 $aCry1F 610 $aCytochrome P450 610 $acytochromes P450 610 $adevelopment 610 $adiagnostic PCR 610 $adynamic energy budget (DEB) theory 610 $afall armyworm 610 $aFall armyworm 610 $agenetics 610 $agenotyping 610 $aglutathione S-transferases 610 $aHelicoverpa 610 $aHelicoverpa armigera 610 $aHeliothis 610 $aIndonesia 610 $ainsect rearing 610 $ainsecticide resistance 610 $ainsecticide resistance genes 610 $ainsertions sites 610 $ainvasive pest 610 $aKenya 610 $aLAMP 610 $aMythimna loreyi 610 $an/a 610 $aNoctuidae 610 $apore-forming toxin 610 $areference genes 610 $aresistance 610 $aresistance management 610 $aresistance screen 610 $arice armyworm 610 $arice strain 610 $aSf9 cells 610 $asoybean looper 610 $aSpodoptera 610 $aSpodoptera frugiperda 610 $atarget-site mutations 610 $atargeted sequencing 610 $atemperature 610 $atransposable elements 610 $aTrichoplusia 610 $avariability 615 7$aBiology, life sciences 615 7$aResearch & information: general 700 $aLe Goff$b Gaelle$4edt$01318488 702 $aNauen$b Ralf$4edt 702 $aLe Goff$b Gaelle$4oth 702 $aNauen$b Ralf$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557478203321 996 $aRecent Advances in the Understanding of Molecular Mechanisms of Resistance in Noctuid Pests$93033318 997 $aUNINA
