What if Whitehead, instead of Heidegger, had set the agenda for postmodern thought? Heidegger asks, "Why is there something, rather than nothing?" Whitehead asks, "How is it that there is always something new?" In a world where everything from popular music to DNA is being sampled and recombined, argues Shaviro, Whitehead's question is the truly urgent one. Without Criteria is Shaviro's experiment in rethinking postmodern theory, especially the theory of aesthetics, from a point of view that hearkens back to Whitehead rather than Heidegger. In working through the ideas of Whitehead and Deleuze, Shaviro also appeals to Kant, arguing that certain aspects of Kant's thought pave the way for the philosophical "constructivism" embraced by both Whitehead and Deleuze. Kant, Whitehead, and Deleuze are not commonly grouped together, but the juxtaposition of them in Without Criteria helps to shed light on a variety of issues that are of concern to contemporary art and media practices. 517 $aSin criterios 606 $aAesthetics 615 0$aAesthetics. 676 $a111.85 700 $aShaviro$b Steven$0607681 702 $aRalo?n$b Laureano 702 $aSua?rez$b Roma?n 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557456203321 996 $aSin criterios$93012342 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02824nam 2200685 450 001 9910139974503321 005 20221206100352.0 010 $a2-84788-550-1 024 7 $a10.4000/books.enseditions.3673 035 $a(CKB)2560000000351751 035 $a(EBL)3430703 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001541364 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11875042 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001541364 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11534993 035 $a(PQKB)10293605 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3430703 035 $a(WaSeSS)IndRDA00044351 035 $a(FrMaCLE)OB-enseditions-3673 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/59711 035 $a(PPN)184478324 035 $a(EXLCZ)992560000000351751 100 $a20150909h20142014 uy 0 101 0 $afre 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aDes sons et des sens $ela physionomie acoustique des mots /$fFederico Albano Leoni ; traduit de l'italien par Philippe-Marie The?veny 210 $cENS Éditions$d2014 210 1$aLyon, [France] :$cENS E?ditions,$d2014. 210 4$d©2014 215 $a1 online resource (205 pages) 225 1 $aCollection Langages 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$aPrint version: 9782847885491 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 410 0$aLangages (Lyon, France) 606 $aPhonetics 606 $aLinguistics 610 $aphonétique 610 $aphilosophie 610 $amorphophonologie 610 $aprosodie 610 $aparole 615 0$aPhonetics. 615 0$aLinguistics. 676 $a414 700 $aAlbano Leoni$b Federico$0144407 702 $aThe?veny$b Philippe-Marie 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bUkMaJRU 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910139974503321 996 $aDes sons et des sens$92276809 997 $aUNINA
