Certainly, there are research efforts aimed at improving the construction and processing of textiles for clothing-such as studies on cleaner production to reduce environmental impact, increasing the utilization of fibers and process chemicals from renewable resources, and on the recycling of materials from post-consumer waste apparel back into the manufacturing of new clothing articles. In addition, technological concepts developed for the creation of clothing over the centuries are now being investigated for use in a diverse array of fields-such as in the manufacture of engineering composites, personal protective equipment, and medicine. Further, developments in other fields-such as electronics, nanotechnology, and information and communication technologies-are being investigated for their incorporation into apparel and clothing to create "smart textiles". The aim of this Special Issue is to put together a collection of scientific reports on such efforts to highlight the range of scientific and technological issues that are being targeted and the ingenuity of the methodologies employed to find answers. It is hoped that readers of this issue will come away with an appreciation of the research being conducted in this area, and perhaps gain inspiration for their own scientific endeavors. 517 $aTextile-Based Advanced Materials 606 $aHistory of engineering and technology$2bicssc 610 $aAMOLED 610 $aantibacterial activity 610 $abiocementation 610 $abiomaterials 610 $acarbon black 610 $acarbon textile reinforced mortar 610 $acardiomyocytes 610 $acellulose fibres 610 $acoatings 610 $acomposite preforming 610 $aconductive fibers 610 $aconductive fibres 610 $aconductivity 610 $adebonding failure 610 $adeposition 610 $adyeability 610 $aelectronic textiles 610 $aenvironmental impacts 610 $afailure mechanism 610 $aflax fiber-reinforced composite 610 $agamma irradiation 610 $agene expression 610 $agraft polymerization 610 $ahealth and safety 610 $ahydrogels 610 $aiPS-cells 610 $aJohnson-Cook model 610 $ajute fibres 610 $akinematic draping simulation 610 $alattice structure 610 $amaterial characterization 610 $amaturation 610 $amechanical properties 610 $aMICP 610 $amulti-cracking pattern 610 $an/a 610 $ananomaterials 610 $aOLEDs 610 $aorganic thin film 610 $aOTFTs 610 $aPET 610 $apicture frame test 610 $apolyacrylonitrile 610 $apolyaniline 610 $aPolyimide fiber 610 $apressure sensor 610 $aprestress 610 $aself-healing 610 $ashear behavior 610 $asilver nanoparticles 610 $asmart clothing 610 $asmart textiles 610 $asteel fibers 610 $astrain rate effect 610 $asurface analysis 610 $asurface modification 610 $asustainable geotechnics 610 $aswelling agent 610 $atemperature sensing 610 $atemperature sensor 610 $atextile 610 $atextile displays 610 $atextiles 610 $athermal stability 610 $athermocouple 610 $atoxicity 610 $aunconfined compressive strength 610 $auniaxial tensile tests 610 $aurea hydrolysis 610 $aviscose fibres 610 $awearable technology 615 7$aHistory of engineering and technology 700 $aBechtold$b Thomas$4edt$01319317 702 $aManian$b Avinash P$4edt 702 $aBechtold$b Thomas$4oth 702 $aManian$b Avinash P$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557430603321 996 $aTextile-Based Advanced Materials$93033757 997 $aUNINA
