There is also high morbidity associated with injuries sustained in childhood, often affecting people for the rest of their lives. For every child who dies from injury, there are several thousand who require medical care, many who live with varying degrees of disability. Children and adolescents (0?19 years of age) are at increased risk of mortality and morbidity due to injuries such as road traffic, burns, falls, poisoning, drowning, self-harm and interpersonal violence. There are proven ways to prevent many child injuries, yet there are still gaps in our knowledge. By understanding the impact of determinants of health (i.e., the social and economic environment, the physical environment and a person?s individual characteristics and behaviors), effective prevention interventions can be designed and implemented, with a high return on investment. This Special Issue covers an eclectic range of studies, the common goal of which is to reduce the global burden of child injury-related mortality and morbidity. 606 $aHumanities$2bicssc 606 $aSocial interaction$2bicssc 610 $asocial determinants 610 $achildren 610 $achild-play 610 $amobile phone 610 $ainjury 610 $asupervision 610 $adrowning 610 $achild health 610 $alow-and middle-income country 610 $aIndia 610 $apreventative medicine 610 $aimplementation science 610 $aqualitative research 610 $amusculoskeletal injury 610 $asports 610 $aexercise 610 $arisk factors 610 $aprotective factors 610 $ainjury prevention 610 $awater safety 610 $aadolescent 610 $alife jacket 610 $aswimming lessons 610 $aswimming ability 610 $arisk behaviors 610 $aFMSTM 610 $apubescence 610 $amaturation 610 $afundamental movement patterns 610 $afunctional movement 610 $agender difference 610 $aself-injurious behavior 610 $ainstitutionalized child 610 $aoral manifestations 610 $awork 610 $aagriculture 610 $afarm 610 $atransport 610 $aoccupational injury 610 $achild 610 $arisk factor 610 $arurality 610 $asocio-economic 610 $adeterminants of health 610 $aroad traffic injury 610 $afalls 610 $apoisoning 610 $aviolence 610 $aself-harm 610 $aprevention 610 $aintervention 610 $aepidemiology 610 $aforce-angle relationship 610 $aisokinetic muscle strength 610 $amuscle-tendon unit 610 $amaximal voluntary contraction 610 $agrowth spurt 610 $awater 610 $asafety 610 $amortality 610 $apolicy 610 $astakeholder 610 $aGlobal Burden of Disease 610 $amultisector 615 7$aHumanities 615 7$aSocial interaction 700 $aPeden$b Amy$4edt$01320362 702 $aFranklin$b Richard$4edt 702 $aPeden$b Amy$4oth 702 $aFranklin$b Richard$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557297403321 996 $aChild Injury and the Determinants of Health$93034189 997 $aUNINA
