In the past two decades, men's labour force participation at older ages has increased, reversing a long-term pattern of decline; participation rates for older women have increased dramatically as well. While better health, more education, and changes in labour-supply behaviour of married couples may have affected this trend, these factors alone cannot explain the magnitude of the employment increase or its large variation across countries. The studies in this volume explore how financial incentives to work at older ages have evolved as a result of public pension reforms since 1980 and how these changes have affected retirement behaviour. 410 0$aNational Bureau of Economic Research. 410 0$aChicago scholarship online. 606 $aSocial security 606 $aOld age pensions 606 $aPostemployment benefits 610 $aemployment. 610 $aimplicit tax. 610 $apension reform. 610 $aretirement incentives. 610 $aworking longer. 615 0$aSocial security. 615 0$aOld age pensions. 615 0$aPostemployment benefits. 676 $a368.43 702 $aBo?rsch-Supan$b Axel$f1954- 702 $aCoile$b Courtney 801 0$bStDuBDS 801 1$bStDuBDS 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910554266503321 996 $aSocial security programs and retirement around the world$92819707 997 $aUNINA
