The chapters are framed in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary line of research that integrates history, Geographic Information Sciences, underwater archaeology, dendrochronology and wood provenance techniques. This line of research was developed during the ForSEAdiscovery project, which had a great impact in the academic and scientific world and brought together experts from Europe and America. The volumes deliver a state-of-the-art review of the latest lines of research related to Iberian maritime history and archaeology and their developing interdisciplinary interaction with dendroarchaeology. This synthesis combines an analysis of historical sources, the systematic study of wreck-remains and material culture related to Iberian seafaring from the 15th to the 18th centuries, and the application of earth sciences, including dendrochronology. The set can be used as a manual or work guide for experts and students, and will also be an interesting read for non-experts interested in the subject. Volume 2 focuses on approaches to the study of shipwrecks including a synthesis of dendro-archaeological results, current interdisciplinary case studies and the specialist study of artillery and anchors. 410 0$aEarth and Environmental Science Series 606 $aGeography 606 $aUnderwater archaeology 606 $aGeographic information systems 606 $aCultural property 606 $aArchaeology 606 $aAnthropology 606 $aGeography 606 $aMaritime Archaeology 606 $aGeographical Information System 606 $aArchaeology and Heritage 606 $aCultural Heritage 606 $aAnthropology 615 0$aGeography. 615 0$aUnderwater archaeology. 615 0$aGeographic information systems. 615 0$aCultural property. 615 0$aArchaeology. 615 0$aAnthropology. 615 14$aGeography. 615 24$aMaritime Archaeology. 615 24$aGeographical Information System. 615 24$aArchaeology and Heritage. 615 24$aCultural Heritage. 615 24$aAnthropology. 676 $a946 676 $a946 702 $aCastro$b Filipe Vieira de$f1960- 702 $aNayling$b Nigel 702 $aCrespo Solana$b Ana 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910552740303321 996 $aHeritage and the sea$92911694 997 $aUNINA
