This approach is very similar to a grounded theory approach wherein the authors, while reviewing the various available documents, ?listened? to the data for emerging themes. Care was taken to engage with the work from multiple angles, taking note of both diversity and unity within the body of research. The challenge in this form of research was for the authors to construct each chapter based on what was covered in the research as opposed to the expanse of what can be covered under each theme. In this way, the overall picture provided here is not a complete analysis of Canada?s social economy landscape, but rather provides an overview of the CSERP research findings in the following thematic areas: Mapping, Social Enterprise, Co-operatives, Indigenous Peoples, Organizational Governance & Capacity, Social Finance, and Public Policy. Each thematic area had representation in over 50 CSERP projects, with some chapters involving as many as 85 relevant research products. As a result, Assembling Understandings is a useful reference point for both reviewing the available CSERP documents and identifying where further research may be required. 410 0$aCanadian Electronic Library.$pDocuments collection. 410 0$aCanadian Electronic Library.$pCanadian public policy collection. 517 3 $aFindings from the Canadian social economy research partnerships, 2005-2011. 606 $aNonprofit organizations$zCanada 606 $aCooperative societies$zCanada 606 $aCommunity development$zCanada 606 $aVoluntarism$zCanada 606 $aPublic-private sector cooperation$zCanada 606 $aEconomics$xSociological aspects$zCanada 606 $aBest practice$2Iptcnc 606 $aBusiness$2Iptcnc 606 $aCanada$2Iptcnc 606 $aCommunity$2Iptcnc 606 $aCooperative$2Iptcnc 606 $aCorporate social responsibility$2Iptcnc 606 $aEconomic development$2Iptcnc 606 $aEconomy$2Iptcnc 606 $aEmployment$2Iptcnc 606 $aEntrepreneurship$2Iptcnc 615 0$aNonprofit organizations 615 0$aCooperative societies 615 0$aCommunity development 615 0$aVoluntarism 615 0$aPublic-private sector cooperation 615 0$aEconomics$xSociological aspects. 615 7$aBest practice 615 7$aBusiness 615 7$aCanada 615 7$aCommunity 615 7$aCooperative 615 7$aCorporate social responsibility 615 7$aEconomic development 615 7$aEconomy 615 7$aEmployment 615 7$aEntrepreneurship 676 $a306.30971 700 $aThompson$b Matthew$f1982-$01088354 701 $aEmmanuel$b Joy$f1955-$01088355 712 02$aCanadian Electronic Library (Firm) 801 0$bMdBmJHUP 801 1$bMdBmJHUP 852 0$3Medium cover image:$uhttp://celarc.ca/covers-medium/232/232533.jpg 852 0$3Thumbnail cover image:$uhttp://celarc.ca/covers/232/232533.jpg 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910524676203321 996 $aAssembling Understandings$92605780 997 $aUNINA
