This study proposes a new explanation of Paul's reason language in Rom 12.1 based on a detailed investigation of ancient philosophical texts on the role of human beings in the cosmos, in which reason language and the idea of a vocation of human beings are closely connected. It argues that Paul here appeals to the idea of a human vocation in order to claim that Christ-followers are able to fulfil their human vocation by living in such a way that their lives produce signs of the new creation inaugurated in Christ. This case is made by establishing the central role of reason in ancient discourse on what it means to be human more broadly, and in particular in Epictetus, who provides the clearest parallel for Romans. These contextualisations allow for a fresh reading of Paul's argument in Romans, where the relevance of these traditions is shown, not least for how Rom 12.1-2 frames Rom 12-15.The study thus contributes to the recent scholarly trend of exploring Paul in ancient philosophical contexts and advances the discussion on the integration of Paul's "theology" and "ethics" within an ancient cultural encyclopedia. --$cProvided by the Publisher. 410 0$aBeihefte zur Zeitschrift fu?r die neutestamentliche Wissenschaft und die Kunde der a?lteren Kirche. 517 $aPaul on the Human Vocation 606 $aVocation$xChristianity 615 0$aVocation$xChristianity. 676 $a284.4 700 $aDu?rr$b Simon$01223491 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910518201003321 996 $aPaul on the Human Vocation$92838814 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03976nam 22006015 450 001 9910485595703321 005 20260216103403.0 010 $a981-16-1327-3 024 7 $a10.1007/978-981-16-1327-2 035 $a(CKB)5590000000487586 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6648128 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL6648128 035 $a(PPN)269152709 035 $a(OCoLC)1257292531 035 $a(DE-He213)978-981-16-1327-2 035 $a(EXLCZ)995590000000487586 100 $a20210617d2021 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aIntraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring in Hemifacial Spasm $eA Practical Guide /$fby Sang-Ku Park, Byung-Euk Joo, Kwan Park 205 $a1st ed. 2021. 210 1$aSingapore :$cSpringer Nature Singapore :$cImprint: Springer,$d2021. 215 $a1 online resource (122 pages) 225 1 $aMedicine Series 311 08$a981-16-1326-5 327 $aSection I. It covers various aspects including brainstem auditory evoked potentials, lateral spread response, free-running EMG and prognosis, and intraoperative hearing loss patterns. In particular, we present detailed explanations and realistic pictures of various and subtle changes in the waveform of brainstem auditory evoked potentials and postoperative hearing. In addition, detailed explanations and actual photos are provided for various cases, such as when the amplitude of the lateral spread response is slightly smaller during surgery, when it is lost and then measured again, or when the surgery is terminated without disappearing. The various situations that may occur during surgery are fully covered, and the causes of and solutions to particular challenges are clearly described. In addition, the results of each test and their association with the postoperative prognosis are explained in detail. The authors have vast experience and recognized expertise in the performance of microvascular decompression surgery and intraoperative neuromonitoring. The book draws on their practical knowledge and many scientific contributions to offer the very latest insights into the management of hemifacial spasm. It will be an excellent guide for young neurosurgeons, neurological monitoring technologists, and neurological interpreters. 410 0$aMedicine Series 606 $aNeurology 606 $aNeurology 606 $aMonitoratge de pacients$2thub 606 $aCirurgia maxil·lofacial$2thub 606 $aHomeopatia$2thub 608 $aLlibres electrònics$2thub 615 0$aNeurology. 615 14$aNeurology. 615 7$aMonitoratge de pacients 615 7$aCirurgia maxil·lofacial 615 7$aHomeopatia 676 $a617.520592 700 $aPark$b Sang-Ku$0971593 702 $aJoo$b Byung-Euk 702 $aPark$b Kwan 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910485595703321 996 $aIntraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring in Hemifacial Spasm$92208944 997 $aUNINA
