Wertevorstellungen wiederum werden in verkürzten Aufzählungen von exempla veranschaulicht. Unter diesen Voraussetzungen erweist ein close reading Senecas und Lucans, dass die Anschaulichkeit ihrer Texte auf der Reduktion auf konkrete Details beruht, die aber gerade durch die Häufung in Aufzählungen ihre affektive Wirkung entfalten.
