Tom Cubbin first examines the studio as a site for the development of the design discipline in the optimistic environment of the Soviet Thaw of the 1960s. He then explores how designers adapted to new realities of the Soviet Union of the 1970s and 80s. Over two decades, designers at the studio worked on critical projects that highlighted how the Soviet state's treatment of citizens, urban heritage and the environment was manifest in daily life. Drawing on previously unpublished visual material from private archives and also extensive interviews, this book presents a new history of the late socialist period in the USSR, which gives insight into the creative strategies of designers who engaged their practice as a contribution to broader discussions on alternative models for socialist existence. Overall, it argues that artistic projecteering must be read as a utopian activity which privileged the political and ideological over the functional."--$cProvided by publisher. 410 0$aCultural histories of design. 606 $aArchitectural design$xResearch$zRussia (Federation) 606 $aDesign$xResearch$zRussia (Federation) 606 $2History of art / art & design styles 608 $aElectronic books. 610 0$aAesthetics 610 0$aArchitectural History 615 0$aArchitectural design$xResearch 615 0$aDesign$xResearch 676 $a729 700 $aCubbin$b Tom$01067605 801 0$bEBLCP 801 1$bCaBNVSL 801 2$bUkLoBP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910511769903321 996 $aSoviet critical design$92551574 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01016cam a2200277 i 4500 001 991002313759707536 005 20020507162522.0 008 000329s1993 it b 000 0 ita d 020 $a8879105531 035 $ab11639349-39ule_inst 035 $aLE02734410$9ExL 040 $aDip.to Studi Giuridici$bita 082 0 $a332.02 100 1 $aVasapollo, Luciano$0117656 245 13$aIl sistema finanziario :$bmercati e prodotti /$cLuciano Vasapollo 260 $aRoma :$bEL guide,$c[1993] 300 $a219 p. ;$c21 cm 440 3$aLe guide ;$v1 500 $aIn appendice: Il nuovo bilancio aziendale, bibliografia aziendale, glossario 650 4$aMercati finanziari 907 $a.b11639349$b21-09-06$c02-07-02 912 $a991002313759707536 945 $aLE027 332.02 VAS01.01$g1$i2027000116140$lle027$nprezzo in lire 25.000$o-$pE12.91$q-$rl$sm $t0$u0$v0$w0$x0$y.i11861125$z02-07-02 996 $aSistema finanziario$9498971 997 $aUNISALENTO 998 $ale027$b01-01-00$cm$da $e-$fita$git $h3$i1
