Commonly seen as a period of uniform decline for public building, especially in the western half of the Mediterranean, (Re)using Ruins shows a vibrant, yet variable, history for these structures. Douglas Underwood establishes a broad catalogue of archaeological evidence (supplemented with epigraphic and literary testimony) for the construction, maintenance, abandonment and reuses of baths, aqueducts, theatres, amphitheatres and circuses in Italy, southern Gaul, Spain, and North Africa, demonstrating that the driving force behind the changes to public buildings was largely a combined shift in urban ideologies and euergetistic practices in Late Antique cities. 410 0$aLate Antique Archaeology (Supplementary Series)$v3. 606 $aPublic buildings 606 $aBuildings$xRemodeling for other use 606 $aCities and towns, Ancient 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aPublic buildings. 615 0$aBuildings$xRemodeling for other use. 615 0$aCities and towns, Ancient. 676 $a307.760937 700 $aUnderwood$b Douglas R.$01066599 801 0$bNL-LeKB 801 1$bNL-LeKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910511650603321 996 $aRe)using Ruins: Public Building in the Cities of the Late Antique West, A.D. 300-600$92549580 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01138nam a2200277 i 4500 001 991001176759707536 005 20020502184657.0 008 940419s1991 it ||| | eng 035 $ab11474725-39ule_inst 035 $aPRUMB56245$9ExL 040 $aScuola per assistenti sociali$bita 041 0 $aengita 082 0 $a305.235094 100 1 $aTomasi, Luigi$0128370 245 12$aI giovani dell'Europa dell'Est e dell'Ovest :$bideologie, valori, prospettive /$ca cura di Luigi Tomasi = The young people of eastern and western Europe :$bvalues, ideologies and prospects /$cedited by Luigi Tomasi 260 $a[Trento] :$bReverdito,$c1991 300 $a355 p. ;$c24 cm. 490 0 $aSociologia Rev ;$v3 500 $aTesto in italiano e inglese. 650 4$aGiovani$zEuropa$y1980-1990 907 $a.b11474725$b01-03-17$c01-07-02 912 $a991001176759707536 945 $aLE024 PS SOC V 14$g1$iLE024N-2844$lle021$nex DUSS$o-$pE0.00$q-$rl$s- $t0$u0$v0$w0$x0$y.i11664551$z01-07-02 996 $aGiovani dell'Europa dell'Est e dell'Ovest$9811758 997 $aUNISALENTO 998 $ale021$b01-01-94$cm$da $e-$feng$git $h2$i1
