The authors address the questions of which behaviors are of climate relevance, who is engaging in these behaviors, in which contexts do these behaviors occur, and which individual perceptions and values are related to them. Utilizing survey research, the book focuses on the measurement of climate-relevant behaviors with population surveys and develops an instrument that allows a valid estimate of an individual?s GHG emissions with a few core items. While the development of these instruments was based on surveys and qualitative interviews conducted in Austria, the instruments were subsequently tested in a set of 31 European countries, revealing the international relevance of such research. The book also concludes with a brief consideration of the effects of the COVID-19 crisis on environmental attitudes, situating the project globally. 606 $aCentral government policies$2bicssc 606 $aSociology$2bicssc 606 $aGeography$2bicssc 606 $aPhysical geography & topography$2bicssc 606 $aSociety & social sciences$2bicssc 610 $aclimate research 610 $aenvironmental sociology 610 $asurvey research 610 $aenvironmental behaviour 610 $aenvironmental attitudes 610 $acarbon footprint 610 $aclimate 610 $asurvey methods 610 $aOpen Access 615 7$aCentral government policies 615 7$aSociology 615 7$aGeography 615 7$aPhysical geography & topography 615 7$aSociety & social sciences 676 $a363.73874 676 $a363.73874 700 $aHadler$b Markus$01059654 701 $aKlösch$b Beate$01238495 701 $aSchwarzinger$b Stephan$01238496 701 $aSchweighart$b Markus$01238497 701 $aWardana$b Rebecca$01238498 701 $aBird$b David Neil$01238499 801 0$bAU-PeEL 801 1$bAU-PeEL 801 2$bAU-PeEL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910508452403321 996 $aSurveying Climate-Relevant Behavior$92874264 997 $aUNINA
