It holds account the intersecting systems that are confronted and challenged by APVA and explores their role and how they can be solutions focused. McCloud provides a sophisticated, nuanced exploration of the most recent research, dilemmas, challenges and paradoxes within this complex and developing field that delivers a roadmap for policy and practice change, and asks the questions needed to improve family relationships moving forward." -Lauren Moulds, Psychologist and Clinical Lecturer, The University of Adelaide, Australia This book seeks to break new ground in the way in which adolescent-to-parent violence and abuse is understood. Incorporating knowledge from an original research project undertaken in the UK and international literature, this book provides insight into the prevalence of this form of domestic violence which can include psychological, physical, and economic abuse. Young person and family characteristics are explored, and links are made between sibling aggression and school bullying behaviours. A key theme is how the data can be used to develop statistical models which can screen for young people behaving abusively towards their parents. It discusses how the research can be applied to inform theoretical frameworks, policy development, and professional practice, with a focus on prevention and early intervention that uses positive youth justice and restorative approaches. Elizabeth McCloud was awarded the Clare Whelan Prize for her master's degree in Forensic Psychology at the University of Surrey, UK. She went on to complete a professional doctorate in Criminal Justice at the University of Portsmouth. She works as a Senior Practitioner in a youth offending Team. Her research interests include adolescent-to-parent violence and abuse and young people who display harmful sexual behaviour. 606 $aJuvenile delinquents 606 $aCriminal behavior 606 $aSocial policy 606 $aHuman rights 606 $aDevelopmental psychology 606 $aYouth Offending and Juvenile Justice 606 $aCriminal Behavior 606 $aSocial Policy 606 $aHuman Rights 606 $aDevelopmental Psychology 615 0$aJuvenile delinquents. 615 0$aCriminal behavior. 615 0$aSocial policy. 615 0$aHuman rights. 615 0$aDevelopmental psychology. 615 14$aYouth Offending and Juvenile Justice. 615 24$aCriminal Behavior. 615 24$aSocial Policy. 615 24$aHuman Rights. 615 24$aDevelopmental Psychology. 676 $a362.8292 676 $a362.8292 700 $aMcCloud$b Elizabeth$0872056 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910506383103321 996 $aAdolescent-To-Parent Violence and Abuse$92568919 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02383nam 2200553z- 450 001 9910557788503321 005 20211118 035 $a(CKB)5400000000045503 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/74041 035 $a(oapen)doab74041 035 $a(EXLCZ)995400000000045503 100 $a20202111d2020 |y 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurmn|---annan 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aIndividualized Assessment of Brain Aging across the Lifespan: Applications in Health and Disease 210 $cFrontiers Media SA$d2020 215 $a1 online resource (177 p.) 311 08$a2-88963-902-9 330 $aThis eBook is a collection of articles from a Frontiers Research Topic.
