La prima, condotta da Cristina Vincenzo e Renato Foschi, è un?analisi di psicologia sociale, mediante lo strumento di questionari diffusi a livello nazionale, intorno alle forme della xenofobia e del razzismo «vecchio stile», cioè ideologicamente strutturato, nei suoi rapporti con il rifiuto dell?altro nelle sue modalità oggi meno evidenti e implicite, per così dire più discrete. La seconda, condotta da Anna Simone e Alberto De Nicola, si concentra sulla città di Roma: è un?inchiesta di taglio sociologico-etnografico, con interviste ai presidenti di alcuni comitati dei cittadini attraverso cui è possibile cogliere il lato oscuro, nelle vesti di una «lotta al degrado» ? in una capitale peraltro afflitta da mille problemi, da quelli della mobilità urbana a quelli della raccolta dei rifiuti, all?abbandono a se stessi di interi quartieri ?, di talune realtà organizzate della cosiddetta cittadinanza attiva. L?introduzione di Rino Genovese, presidente della Fondazione per la critica sociale, mette a fuoco il contesto teorico generale al cui interno si è formato il gruppo di studio sulla sindrome identitaria, definendo quest?ultima come una patologia a più facce di un bisogno identitario, da parte degli individui e delle collettività, che può avere aspetti positivi o negativi, progressivi o regressivi, a seconda delle forme in cui venga a esprimersi. 606 $aPsychology 606 $aSocial Work 606 $aFondazione per la critica sociale 606 $apsicologia sociale 606 $axenofobia 606 $arazzismo 606 $aRoma 606 $ainchiesta 606 $aFondation pour la critique sociale 606 $apsychologie sociale 606 $axénophobie 606 $aracisme 606 $aRome 606 $aenquête 606 $aFoundation for social criticism 606 $asocial psychology 606 $axenophobia 606 $aracism 606 $ainquiry 607 $aItaly$xRace relations 607 $aRome (Italy)$xRace relations 615 4$aPsychology 615 4$aSocial Work 615 4$aFondazione per la critica sociale 615 4$apsicologia sociale 615 4$axenofobia 615 4$arazzismo 615 4$aRoma 615 4$ainchiesta 615 4$aFondation pour la critique sociale 615 4$apsychologie sociale 615 4$axénophobie 615 4$aracisme 615 4$aRome 615 4$aenquête 615 4$aFoundation for social criticism 615 4$asocial psychology 615 4$axenophobia 615 4$aracism 615 4$ainquiry 700 $aDe Nicola$b Alberto$01457596 701 $aFoschi$b Renato$0157469 701 $aGenovese$b Rino$0144524 701 $aNicola$b di Alberto De$01457597 701 $aSimone$b Anna$0423990 701 $aVincenzo$b Cristina$0804896 701 $aDe Nicola$b Alberto$01457596 801 0$bFR-FrMaCLE 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910498496303321 996 $aSulla sindrome identitaria$93657990 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04905nam 22006855 450 001 9910793365103321 005 20221128051255.0 010 $a1-4875-1596-0 010 $a1-4875-1595-2 024 7 $a10.3138/9781487515959 035 $a(CKB)4100000007164637 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5602602 035 $a(DE-B1597)521232 035 $a(OCoLC)1076269183 035 $a(DE-B1597)9781487515959 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)musev2_107646 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000007164637 100 $a20190430d2018 fg 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aLeading with the Chin $eWriting American Masculinities in Esquire, 1960-1989 /$fBrad Congdon 210 1$aToronto : $cUniversity of Toronto Press, $d[2018] 210 4$d©2018 215 $a1 online resource (xii, 276 pages) 311 08$a1-4875-0275-3 311 08$a1-4875-2216-9 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references (pages [213]-268) and index. 327 $a2. Baldwin's Queer Critique of Race in Esquire 330 $aLeading with the Chin focuses on the Esquire writings of James Baldwin, Truman Capote, Raymond Carver, Don DeLillo, Norman Mailer, and Tim O'Brien to examine how these authors negotiated important shifts in American masculinity. Using the works of these six authors as case studies, Leading with the Chin argues that Esquire permitted writers to confront national fantasies of American masculinity as they were impacted by the rise of neoliberalism, civil rights and gay rights, and the cultural dominance of the professional-managerial class. Applying the methodologies of periodical studies and the theoretical concerns of masculinity studies, this book recontextualizes the prose and fiction of these authors by analyzing them in the material context of the magazine. Relating each author's articulation of masculinity to the advertisements, editorials, and articles published in each issue, Leading with the Chin shows that Esquire reflected and helped to shape the forces that structured American masculinity in the twentieth century. 606 $aAmerican literature$y20th century$xHistory and criticism 606 $aMasculinity in literature 610 $aAmerican literature. 610 $aEsquire. 610 $aadvertising. 610 $amagazines. 610 $amanhood. 610 $amanliness. 610 $amasculinities. 610 $amasculinity. 610 $amaterial culture. 610 $aperiodicals. 610 $apopular culture. 610 $apostmodernism. 610 $aprint culture. 615 0$aAmerican literature$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aMasculinity in literature. 676 $a810.9/353 700 $aCongdon$b Brad, $01568734 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910793365103321 996 $aLeading with the Chin$93841090 997 $aUNINA
