It rarely relies on quantitative data because police crime statistics are not reliable, or not available, or not even published. Moreover, the training of Nigerian social scientists often focuses on qualitative, cultural, and political issues. There is thus a need to bridge the qualitative and quantitative approaches of conflict studies. This book represents an innovation and fills a gap in this regard. It is the first to introduce a discussion on such issues in a coherent manner, relying on a database that fills the lacunae in data from the security forces. The authors underline the necessity of a trend analysis to decipher the patterns and the complexity of violence in very different fields: from oil production to cattle breeding, radical Islam to motor accidents, land conflicts to witchcraft, and so on. In addition, they argue for empirical investigation and a complementary approach using both qualitative and quantitative data. The book is therefore organized into two parts, with a focus first on statistical studies, then on fieldwork. 606 $aGeography 606 $aPolitical Science 606 $aviolence 606 $aconflicts 606 $acrime 606 $acrime statistics 606 $aquantitative data analysis 610 $aviolence 610 $aconflicts 610 $acrime 610 $acrime statistics 610 $aquantitative data analysis 615 4$aGeography 615 4$aPolitical Science 615 4$aviolence 615 4$aconflicts 615 4$acrime 615 4$acrime statistics 615 4$aquantitative data analysis 700 $aAbodunrin$b Hammed$01285165 701 $aAdams$b Adeola$01285166 701 $aAdedotun$b Akinpelu Babajide$01285167 701 $aAfeno$b Super Odomovo$01285168 701 $aAlqali$b Adam$01285169 701 $aMunir$b Arshad$01177351 701 $aOkanume$b Joachin Uche$01285170 701 $aOlayoku$b Philip Ademola$01285171 701 $aOlojo$b Akinola Ejodame$01285172 701 $aPérouse de Montclos$b Marc-Antoine$01285173 701 $aUkiwo$b Ukoha$01125715 701 $aUkoji$b Vitus Nwankwo$01285174 701 $aPérouse de Montclos$b Marc-Antoine$01248080 801 0$bFR-FrMaCLE 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910496035903321 996 $aViolence in Nigeria$93019492 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02736nam 2200565 450 001 9910827663303321 005 20170816143331.0 010 $a1-4704-0476-1 035 $a(CKB)3360000000465056 035 $a(EBL)3114254 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000888981 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11932387 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000888981 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10876416 035 $a(PQKB)10072866 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3114254 035 $a(RPAM)14636256 035 $a(PPN)195417615 035 $a(EXLCZ)993360000000465056 100 $a20150416h20072007 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 04$aThe Hilbert function of a level algebra /$fAnthony V.
