This edited volume offers a broad understanding and particular visions of Kenya in the first quarter of the twenty-first century. By bringing together rigorous yet accessible contributions, it shows how, since the 2002 transition, Kenya has been striving for change through economic modernisation and political liberalisation. The planned transformations are coming to fruition, even if the legacies of the past and political habits are slowing down the process. The various chapters take us from developmental capitalism to extreme poverty and enduring inequalities, from reforms on paper to mixed results in multiple sectors: decentralised governance, natural resources, land, and education. They also explore Kenya?s ancient and colonial history and the diversity of its population. Thus, the book helps understand contemporary political, religious and community cleavages, the asymmetries between towns and the countryside, between Nairobi and? 606 $aPolitical Science 606 $asociété kényane 606 $adéveloppement 606 $apolitique kényane 606 $acapitalisme développemental 606 $aKenya Vision 2030 610 $asociété kényane 610 $adéveloppement 610 $apolitique kényane 610 $acapitalisme développemental 610 $aKenya Vision 2030 615 4$aPolitical Science 615 4$asociété kényane 615 4$adéveloppement 615 4$apolitique kényane 615 4$acapitalisme développemental 615 4$aKenya Vision 2030 700 $aAbungu$b Patrick O$01296557 701 $aAdam$b Michel$0337513 701 $aBallarin$b Marie Pierre$0281063 701 $aCalas$b Bernard$0253055 701 $aCharton$b Hélène$01296558 701 $aCoret$b Clélia$01296559 701 $aDi Matteo$b Francesca$01296560 701 $aDroz$b Yvan$01237354 701 $aFouéré$b Marie-Aude$01296561 701 $aGez$b Yonatan N$0974382 701 $aJosse-Durand$b Chloé$01296562 701 $aLame$b Danielle de$0243634 701 $aLanne$b Jean-Baptiste$01296563 701 $aMarcel$b Olivier$0435925 701 $aMaupeu$b Hervé$01296564 701 $aMwakimako$b Hassan$01296565 701 $aPeatrik$b Anne-Marie$01284554 701 $aPelletier$b Adeline$01296566 701 $aProvini$b Olivier$01296567 701 $aRacaud$b Sylvain$01296568 701 $aRouillé-Kielo$b Gaële$01296569 701 $aThibon$b Christian$01296570 701 $aWillis$b Justin$0689296 701 $aFouéré$b Marie-Aude$01296561 701 $aPommerolle$b Marie-Emmanuelle$01293208 701 $aThibon$b Christian$01296570 801 0$bFR-FrMaCLE 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910495995303321 996 $aLe Kenya en marche, 2000-2020$93033582 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04304nam 22008295 450 001 9910484706903321 005 20251226203117.0 010 $a3-642-03715-1 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-642-03715-3 035 $a(CKB)1000000000772860 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000317103 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11251781 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000317103 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10286931 035 $a(PQKB)10704715 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-642-03715-3 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3064489 035 $a(PPN)139951040 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000772860 100 $a20100301d2009 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn|008mamaa 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aData Management in Grid and Peer-to-Peer Systems $eSecond International Conference, Globe 2009 Linz, Austria, September 1-2, 2009 Proceedings /$fedited by Abdelkader Hameurlain, A Min Tjoa 205 $a1st ed. 2009. 210 1$aBerlin, Heidelberg :$cSpringer Berlin Heidelberg :$cImprint: Springer,$d2009. 215 $a1 online resource (VIII, 151 p.) 225 1 $aInformation Systems and Applications, incl.
