This book brings together the contributions of eighteen researchers of national and international renown in the field of didactics. 517 $aTHEORIES DIDACTIQUES DE LA LECTURE ET DE L ECRITURE 606 $aReading$zFrance 606 $aFrench language$xComposition and exercises$xStudy and teaching$zFrance 615 0$aReading 615 0$aFrench language$xComposition and exercises$xStudy and teaching 700 $aAudigier$b François$01283595 701 $aBishop$b Marie-France$01282720 701 $aBronckart$b Jean-Paul$0530499 701 $aCohen-Azria$b Cora$01290564 701 $aDelamotte$b Régine$01458973 701 $aDias-Chiaruttini$b Ana$01327348 701 $aGlaudes$b Pierre$0176182 701 $aGrossmann$b Francis$0738383 701 $aHofstetter$b Rita$01281047 701 $aJaubert$b Martine$01292672 701 $aLahanier-Reuter$b Dominique$01290569 701 $aLebeaume$b Joël$01291490 701 $aNiewiadomski$b Christophe$01455777 701 $aPenloup$b Marie-Claude$01457034 701 $aPetitjean$b André$0402504 701 $aPeyronie$b Henri$01293352 701 $aRayou$b Patrick$01283384 701 $aRebière$b Maryse$01292674 701 $aSchneuwly$b Bernard$01288896 701 $aTauveron$b Catherine$01317997 701 $aDias-Chiaruttini$b Ana$01327348 701 $aCohen-Azria$b Cora$01290564 801 0$bFR-FrMaCLE 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910495734603321 996 $aThéories-didactiques de la lecture et de l?écriture$93658443 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03700nam 2200925z- 450 001 9910557365703321 005 20220111 035 $a(CKB)5400000000042234 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/76742 035 $a(oapen)doab76742 035 $a(EXLCZ)995400000000042234 100 $a20202201d2021 |y 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurmn|---annan 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aUrban Food Deserts: Perspectives from the Global South 210 $aBasel, Switzerland$cMDPI - Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute$d2021 215 $a1 online resource (174 p.) 311 08$a3-0365-1042-7 311 08$a3-0365-1043-5 330 $aThe industrialization of the urban food system, alongside the proliferation of supermarkets, has dramatically transformed the landscape of food accessibility in cities. In many countries, the spatial consolidation of food provisioning has deprived many urban neighbourhoods of easy access to food, particularly foodstuffs integral to a healthy diet. These often socioeconomically disadvantaged urban areas are referred to as "food deserts". However, studies of urban food deserts in cities of the Global South are sparse, given their complicated urban food systems with the strong presence of informal food economies and diverse food sources. This book draws on empirical studies from South African, Brazilian and Chinese cities to investigate the food desert narrative, the characteristics of urban food environment and the various socioeconomic factors shaping it, as well as the food security and health consequences of urban food deserts. These studies reveal the limitations of applying the food desert concept to cities in the Global South and call for more holistic measurements of urban food insecurity. 517 $aUrban Food Deserts 606 $aHumanities$2bicssc 606 $aSocial interaction$2bicssc 610 $aAfrican food systems 610 $aAfrican urbanism 610 $achildren 610 $adietary diversity 610 $afood access 610 $afood desert 610 $afood deserts 610 $aFood deserts 610 $afood environment 610 $afood environments 610 $afood geographies 610 $afood insecurity 610 $afood justice 610 $afood policy 610 $afood purchasing characteristics 610 $afood security 610 $afood sources 610 $afood sourcing 610 $aGhana 610 $agovernance 610 $ainformal food sector 610 $ainformal settlements 610 $amalnutrition 610 $amapping 610 $aMexico City 610 $aNairobi 610 $aNamibia 610 $aNOVA food classification system 610 $anutrition 610 $aobesity 610 $aout-shoppers 610 $aproximity to food outlets 610 $ashopping behaviors 610 $asocial networks 610 $asocioeconomic area 610 $aSouth Africa 610 $aSouthern Africa 610 $asupermarkets 610 $aultra-processed 610 $aurban 610 $aurban food system 610 $aurban poverty 610 $aurbanization 610 $aWindhoek 615 7$aHumanities 615 7$aSocial interaction 700 $aCrush$b Jonathan$4edt$01140931 702 $aSi$b Zhenzhong$4edt 702 $aCrush$b Jonathan$4oth 702 $aSi$b Zhenzhong$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557365703321 996 $aUrban Food Deserts: Perspectives from the Global South$93030709 997 $aUNINA
