Mesozoic rocks of India record abnormal sea level rise, greenhouse climate, intensified volcanism, hypoxia in seawater, extensive black shale deposition, and hydrocarbon occurrence. The Mesozoic has also witnessed mass extinction events, evolution of dinosaurs, and breakdown of the supercontinent Pangea and the formation of Gondwana. Although the Mesozoic geology of India has witnessed significant progress in the last century, literature survey reveals a huge gap in knowledge regarding sequence stratigraphy, chemostratigraphy and key geological events. A synthesis of sedimentological, paleontological and chemical data is included to presenting a comprehensive understanding of the Indian Mesozoic record to students, researchers and professionals. 410 0$aSociety of Earth Scientists series. 606 $aGeology, Stratigraphic$yMesozoic 606 $aFormations (Geology)$zIndia 606 $aPaleoclimatology$zIndia 615 0$aGeology, Stratigraphic 615 0$aFormations (Geology) 615 0$aPaleoclimatology 676 $a551.409791 702 $aSarkar$b Subir 702 $aBanerjee$b Santanu 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910495224503321 996 $aMesozoic Stratigraphy of India$92188544 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04264nam 2200577 450 001 9910795075103321 005 20191118111955.0 010 $a0-7556-0443-1 010 $a0-85772-538-6 010 $a0-85773-846-1 024 7 $a10.5040/9780755604432 035 $a(CKB)4340000000262912 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5338694 035 $a(CaBNVSL)mat55604432 035 $a(OCoLC)1128166882 035 $a(CaBNVSL)9780755604432 035 $a(EXLCZ)994340000000262912 100 $a20191118d2019 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aContemporary art from the Middle East $eregional interactions with global art discourses /$fedited by Hamid Keshmirshekan 205 $aFirst edition. 210 1$aLondon, England :$cI.B. And is it understood differently outside the region? What is liable to be lost when contemporary art from the Middle East is 'transferred' to international contexts - and how can it be reclaimed? This timely book tackles ongoing questions about how 'local' perspectives on contemporary art from the Middle East are defined and how these perspectives intersect with global art discourses. Inside, leading figures from the Middle Eastern art world, western art historians, art theorists and museum curators discuss the historical and cultural circumstances which have shaped contemporary art from the Middle East, reflecting on recent exhibitions and curatorial projects and revealing how artists have struggled with the label of 'Middle Eastern Artist'. Chapters reflect on the fundamental methodologies of art history and cultural studies - considering how relevant they are when studying contemporary art from the Middle East - and investigate the ways in which contemporary, so-called 'global', theories impact on the making of art in the region. Drawing on their unique expertise, the book's contributors offer completely new perspectives on the most recent cultural, intellectual and socio-political developments of contemporary art from the Middle East. 410 0$aInternational library of modern and contemporary art ;$v18. 606 $aMiddle Eastern art$y20th century 606 $aMiddle Eastern art$y21st century 606 $aModern art 606 $aOriental art$2bicssc 615 0$aMiddle Eastern art 615 0$aMiddle Eastern art 615 0$aModern art. 615 7$aOriental art 676 $a709.5609/04 702 $aKeshmirshekan$b Hamid 801 0$bN 801 1$bCaBNVSL 801 2$bCaBNVSL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910795075103321 996 $aContemporary art from the Middle East$93787430 997 $aUNINA
