The book shows research work by reviewing the literature to investigate relevant adherence studies, presenting in-depth interviews on adherence perspectives of clinic patients and healthcare providers, and a cross-sectional descriptive study of pregnant women that investigated general adherence to pregnancy-related behaviours and ART, and the efficacy of a theoretical model (Health Belief Model) to understand and predict ART adherence within this group. Author discusses the factors affecting ART adherence among pregnant and postpartum women, since existing studies may not account for cultural and other local variations. The findings provide insight into the local situation, and will also inform policy and practice in Guyana, and the wider Caribbean Community (CARICOM). 606 $aMedical care 606 $aEconomic development 606 $aPolitical planning 606 $aHealth 606 $aSex 606 $aHealth Care 606 $aDevelopment Studies 606 $aPublic Policy 606 $aGender and Health 606 $aAntiretrovirals$2thub 606 $aVIH (Virus)$2thub 606 $aEmbarassades$2thub 606 $aAssistència sanitària$2thub 607 $aGuyana$2thub 607 $aPaïsos en vies de desenvolupament$2thub 608 $aLlibres electrònics$2thub 615 0$aMedical care. 615 0$aEconomic development. 615 0$aPolitical planning. 615 0$aHealth. 615 0$aSex. 615 14$aHealth Care. 615 24$aDevelopment Studies. 615 24$aPublic Policy. 615 24$aGender and Health. 615 7$aAntiretrovirals 615 7$aVIH (Virus) 615 7$aEmbarassades 615 7$aAssistència sanitària 676 $a616.9792061 700 $aVitalis$b Deborah$01237454 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910495191403321 996 $aAdherence to antiretroviral therapy among perinatal women in Guyana$92872599 997 $aUNINA
