The reality is that both have many commonalities. In many cases, people focus on lean as only for the manufacturing floor and their processes, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Lean is about behavioral change: a change for the better, identifying simple and waste-free methods to perform any activity, process, or service. In EHS, approximately 85% of all injuries are related to poor behaviors (unsafe acts); therefore we must create a safety culture. EHS professionals must recognize the power of the lean culture and use its power to build upon their own EHS culture. Why not incorporate EHS into the idea of standardized work for all activities, why not incorporate safety into your 5S audits, why not visualize safety within the visual management tools in the workplace, why not make safety part of leadership standard audits and shop floor (Gemba) walks, and why not work with your lean leadership to change the culture together? EHS already has many of the expected lean tools in its arsenal. When an injury occurs, it is expected that the EHS and leadership team react quickly with a sense of urgency to solve the root cause of the injury. Therefore, we all rush to the area to see what happened (go and see), we investigate and utilize problem-solving techniques (5-Why, 8D, etc.). We do our best to find and eliminate the root cause of that injury and we look for other areas or similar conditions and implement corrective actions (yokoten or knowledge sharing). From my 18 years of lean experience, that sure does sound like a strong lean culture and methodology--$cProvided by publisher. 410 0$aOccupational safety and health guide series. 606 $aEnvironmental health 606 $aIndustrial safety 606 $aLean manufacturing 615 0$aEnvironmental health. 615 0$aIndustrial safety. 615 0$aLean manufacturing. 676 $a658.3/82 700 $aEnglish$b Paul F.$01588004 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bC7V 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910800157403321 996 $aSafety performance in a lean environment$93876963 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03063nam 22005175 450 001 9910495156603321 005 20251204105415.0 010 $a3-030-76525-3 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-030-76525-5 035 $a(CKB)4100000012000172 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-030-76525-5 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6702979 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL6702979 035 $a(PPN)257356452 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000012000172 100 $a20210814d2021 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn#008mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aLee's Ophthalmic Histopathology /$fby Fiona Roberts, Chee Koon Thum 205 $a4th ed. 2021. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2021. 215 $a1 online resource (XVII, 499 p. 750 illus., 728 illus. in color.) 311 08$a3-030-76524-5 327 $aExamination of the Globe: Technical Aspects -- The Traumatised Eye -- ?Absolute Glaucoma? -- Retinal Vascular Disease -- Intraocular Tumours -- Ocular Inflammation -- Treatment of Retinal Detachment -- The Malformed Eye -- Autopsy Eye: the Eye in Systemic Disease -- Biopsy of the Eyelid, the Lacrimal Sac, and the Temporal Artery -- The Conjunctival Biopsy -- The Orbit: Biopsy, Excision Biopsy, and Exenteration Specimens -- The Corneal Disc -- Lens. 330 $aCompletely revised and updated, this book now outlines changing patterns in eye trauma, corneal surgery and glaucoma; developments in molecular genetics in uveal melanoma; and diagnostic techniques for intraocular lymphoma. Information on new treatments for vascular disease in diabetic eye disease and wet age related macular degeneration is now included and the chapter on the orbit has many new additions. Recently identified causes of inflammation in the eye including drug reactions are described, as are the effects of topical therapies in basal cell carcinoma. Well-illustrated and practically-oriented, this book has retained its general layout and style. The visual image remains key to explaining the pathological processes and this is facilitated by full color photography throughout the text. It helps both the pathologist and ophthalmologist understand the process that a specimen must go through prior to producing a report and how these various techniques help to refine the diagnosis. The fourth edition of Lee?s Ophthalmic Histopathology is an invaluable reference source for ophthalmic pathologists, general pathologists and ophthalmologists. 606 $aPathology 606 $aOphthalmology 606 $aPathology 606 $aOphthalmology 615 0$aPathology. 615 0$aOphthalmology. 615 14$aPathology. 615 24$aOphthalmology. 676 $a617.71 700 $aRoberts$b Fiona$0755301 702 $aThum$b Chee Koon 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910495156603321 996 $aLee's Ophthalmic Histopathology$92196227 997 $aUNINA
