The book also explores how different aspects of citizenship, such as attitudes towards diverse population groups and concerns for social issues, relate to classical definitions of norm-based citizenship from the political sciences. Authors from Asia, Europe, and Latin America provide a series of in-depth investigations into how concepts of ?good citizenship? are shaped in different regions of the globe, using the rich comparative data from the IEA?s International Civic and Citizenship Study (ICCS) 2016. In twelve chapters, the authors review the concept of ?good citizenship?; how citizenship norms adherence is configured into profiles across countries; and what country, school, and background factors are related to how students adhere to citizenship norms. Recognizing contingent social and political situations in specific regions of the world, the present books offer six chapters where authors apply their expertise to offer locally relevant and pertinent observations on how young people from diverse cultures understand and relate to different dimensions of citizenship in countries of Asia, Europe, and Latin America. The present book is of relevance for different audiences interested in civic education and political socialization, including social sciences and education, integrating topics from political science, sociology, political psychology, and law. 410 0$aIEA Research for Education Ser. 606 $aEducation$2bicssc 606 $aExaminations & assessment$2bicssc 606 $aCivil rights & citizenship$2bicssc 606 $aEducational strategies & policy$2bicssc 606 $aEducació cívica$2thub 606 $aJoves$2thub 608 $aLlibres electrònics$2thub 610 $aIEA 610 $aLarge-scale studies in education 610 $aOpen Access 610 $aCivic education 610 $aSchool effectiveness 610 $aInternational Civics and Citizenship Study 610 $aICCS 610 $aLarge-scale assessment 610 $aICCS data in civic education 610 $aComparative research in civic education 610 $aLatin American political culture and citizenship norms 610 $aCorruption among students in Latin America 610 $aCitizenship norms among native and immigrant students 610 $aAsian adolescents? understanding of democracy 610 $aAsian dtudents and civic engagement 615 7$aEducation 615 7$aExaminations & assessment 615 7$aCivil rights & citizenship 615 7$aEducational strategies & policy 615 7$aEducació cívica 615 7$aJoves 700 $aTreviño$b Ernesto$01235942 701 $aCarrasco$b Diego$01235943 701 $aClaes$b Ellen$01235944 701 $aKennedy$b Kerry J$01060317 801 0$bAU-PeEL 801 1$bAU-PeEL 801 2$bAU-PeEL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910494567403321 996 $aGood Citizenship for the Next Generation$92870275 997 $aUNINA
