Over 850 Mauthausen survivors have been recorded worldwide, more than 160 of them in Poland, and over 30 by the author. The work offers an in-depth analysis of Polish survivors? accounts, sensitive to both, form and content of these stories, as well as their social and cultural framing. The analysis is accompanied by an interpretation of (Polish) camp experiences in a broader biographical and historical perspective. The book is an interpretive journey from camp experiences, through the survivors? memories, to narratives recalling them ? and backwards. 606 $aNazi concentration camp inmates$zAustria$zMauthausen$vInterviews 606 $aWorld War, 1939-1945$vPersonal narratives, Polish 607 $aAustria$zMauthausen$2fast 608 $aInterviews.$2fast 608 $aPersonal narratives$vPolish.$2fast 610 $aBiographical 610 $abiographical memory 610 $aCamp 610 $aConcentration 610 $aconcentration camp experience 610 $aExperience 610 $aFilipkowski 610 $aHistory 610 $aNarrative 610 $anarrative analysis 610 $aNazi 610 $aOral 610 $aPerspective 610 $aPolish political prisoners 610 $asurvivors? testimonies 610 $aWorld War Two 615 0$aNazi concentration camp inmates 615 0$aWorld War, 1939-1945 676 $a940.547243094362 700 $aFilipkowski$b Piotr$0855378 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910485584303321 996 $aOral history and the war$91909590 997 $aUNINA
