The book examines an integral approach to contemporary theories of planning and design that explores the human-nature relationship patterns in social and spatial interconnections, between people and their natural environments. The interconnectedness of human and natural systems is used to scaffold possible solutions to address key environmental and sustainability issues that specifically address the need for patterns of behaviour that acknowledge the duality of ?man and nature?. In 12 chapters, the book presents a holistic, regenerative-adaptive pattern language that encapsulates how communities can better appreciate landscape change under future climate effects, and acknowledges the importance to adapt to patterns of change of place and the environment and therefore inform the communities? responses for sustainable development. The application of the regenerative-adaptive pattern language was tested along the Great Ocean Road region of the Victorian coast in Australia. The concluding chapters argues that for human settlements and cities to be resilient and sustainable, we must understand the interconnected patterns of human-built environments and natural systems, and how we function in a social-spatial dimension with these. The book is intended for practitioners and academic scholars with interest in sustainable development, regenerative design, pattern languages, biophilia, settlement planning, and climate change adaptation. 410 0$aSustainable development goals series. 606 $aSustainable architecture 606 $aSustainable development 606 $aSymbolism in architecture 615 0$aSustainable architecture. 615 0$aSustainable development. 615 0$aSymbolism in architecture. 676 $a720.47 700 $aRoos$b Phillip B.$01076492 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910484815803321 996 $aRegenerative-Adaptive Design for Sustainable Development$92587138 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01395nam a2200301 i 4500 001 991002310119707536 008 070402s2005 it b 001 0 ita d 020 $a8888156356 035 $ab13507655-39ule_inst 040 $aDip.to Filologia Class. e Scienze Filosofiche$bita 082 04$a945.7531 082 04$a307.7609457531 100 1 $aSpedicato, Mario$0140384 245 10$aLecce alia Neapolis :$bnascita e tramonto di un primato urbano, secc. 16.-17. /$cMario Spedicato 260 $aGalatina :$bPanico,$c[2005] 300 $a146 p. ;$c21 cm. 440 0$aCultura e storia / Collana della Societą di storia patria, sez. di Lecce ;$v11 500 $aContiene bibliografia e indici 650 4$aReligione e politica$zLecce$ySec. 16.-19. 650 4$aStoria urbana$zLecce$ySec. 16.-19. 907 $a.b13507655$b02-04-14$c02-04-07 912 $a991002310119707536 945 $aLE007 940 SPE 01.01$g1$i2007000116722$lle007$nLE007 2007 Arcuti$on$pE15.00$q-$rl$s- $t0$u0$v0$w0$x0$y.i14415811$z02-04-07 945 $aLE005 300 SPE02. 01$g1$i2005000182266$lle005$o-$pE15.00$q-$rl$s- $t0$u14$v6$w14$x0$y.i14428052$z19-04-07 945 $aLE023 945.753 SPE 1 2 $g1$i2023000130346$lle023$o-$pE15.00$q-$rn$so $t0$u8$v0$w8$x0$y.i15322579$z22-09-11 996 $aLecce alia Neapolis$91220863 997 $aUNISALENTO 998 $ale007$ale005$ale023$b02-04-07$cm$da $e-$fita$git $h0$i0 LEADER 00880nam a2200241 i 4500 001 991001459649707536 005 20020507130133.0 008 011106s1997 ||| ||| | ita 035 $ab1022371x-39ule_inst 035 $aLE02986356$9ExL 040 $aISUFI - Sett.
