Paul Torrance undertook to study creativity in students and study whether it would predict their creative achievements as adults. He and his colleagues wanted to determine what other factors influence, predict, encourage or sustain their creativity over time. There has never been a longitudinal study of creativity of this magnitude. Its findings will be useful to, and have implications for, several audiences: parents, teachers, counselors-especially vocational counselors-university and college instructors, and educational administrators. The Manifesto for Children was developed on the basis of the responses of 215 young adults who had attended two elementary schools in Minnesota from 1958 to 1964. They had been administered some creativity tests each year, and they were followed up in 1980. On the basis of their questionnaire responses, the Manifesto was developed to describe their ongoing struggle to maintain their creativity and use their strengths to create their careers and to provide guidance to children. In 1998, they were followed up to assess their creative achievements and to validate the Manifesto. Some of the participants had attained eminence, while others had attained only mediocre careers. 410 0$aPublications in creativity research. 606 $aCreative ability$zUnited States$vLongitudinal studies 606 $aGifted children$xEducation$zUnited States$vLongitudinal studies 615 0$aCreative ability 615 0$aGifted children$xEducation 676 $a370.15/7 700 $aTorrance$b E. The 35 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 81 submissions. The accepted papers cover the major topics of current interest in pattern recognition, including classification and clustering, deep learning, structural matching and graph-theoretic methods, and multimedia analysis and understanding. 410 0$aImage Processing, Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, and Graphics,$x3004-9954 ;$v12644 606 $aArtificial intelligence 606 $aAlgorithms 606 $aArtificial intelligence$xData processing 606 $aSocial sciences$xData processing 606 $aComputers 606 $aComputer science$xMathematics 606 $aArtificial Intelligence 606 $aAlgorithms 606 $aData Science 606 $aComputer Application in Social and Behavioral Sciences 606 $aComputing Milieux 606 $aMathematics of Computing 615 0$aArtificial intelligence. 615 0$aAlgorithms. 615 0$aArtificial intelligence$xData processing. 615 0$aSocial sciences$xData processing. 615 0$aComputers. 615 0$aComputer science$xMathematics. 615 14$aArtificial Intelligence. 615 24$aAlgorithms. 615 24$aData Science. 615 24$aComputer Application in Social and Behavioral Sciences. 615 24$aComputing Milieux. 615 24$aMathematics of Computing. 676 $a006.4 702 $aTorsello$b Andrea 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910484763203321 996 $aStructural, Syntactic, and Statistical Pattern Recognition$9772717 997 $aUNINA
