Conclusion. 330 $aOn 1 August 2008, the Chinese Anti-Monopoly Law entered into force, introducing a comprehensive framework for competition law to the Chinese market. One set of the new rules pertains to merger control. China?s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) was nominated as the authority responsible for enforcing merger control in China, and has been actively doing so ever since. Recent years have established China as one of the most important merger filing jurisdictions for cross-border mergers alongside the EU and USA. This work evaluates the Chinese merger control law regime and MOFCOM?s decision-making practice after more than five years of application. In particular, it assesses which policy goals (competition policy goals or industrial policy considerations) prevail in the written law and its application, and provides suggestions for a further improvement of the law ? with the aim to develop a transparent merger control regime that promotes long-term economic growth in China. 410 0$aMunich Studies on Innovation and Competition,$x2199-7462 ;$v2 606 $aPrivate international law 606 $aConflict of laws 606 $aGlobalization 606 $aMarkets 606 $aInternational law 606 $aTrade 606 $aPrivate International Law, International & Foreign Law, Comparative Law $3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/R14002 606 $aEmerging Markets/Globalization$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/525010 606 $aInternational Economic Law, Trade Law$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/R19050 615 0$aPrivate international law. 615 0$aConflict of laws. 615 0$aGlobalization. 615 0$aMarkets. 615 0$aInternational law. 615 0$aTrade. 615 14$aPrivate International Law, International & Foreign Law, Comparative Law . 615 24$aEmerging Markets/Globalization. 615 24$aInternational Economic Law, Trade Law. 676 $a340 676 $a340.2 676 $a340.9 676 $a343.07 700 $aWeinreich-Zhao$b Tingting$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01228773 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910484381503321 996 $aChinese Merger Control Law$92852720 997 $aUNINA
